A Remote Design Before & After

I thought it would be fun to share some snapshots of a recently installed remote design project we did on Long Island. Due to COVID and distance, we never set foot in this house and have not met the client in person, yet were able to take an unremarkable space and make it a truly cozy, amazing spot for this family to hang out, entertain and quarantine in style (is it OVER YET???)

AFTER: We had the room painted Farrow & Ball Green Smoke (which is reading a little different in these images – remember with paint colors, they will look vastly different in your house than any other house due to directional light, surroundings, etc!) This makes a rather large room feel so much more dramatic and welcoming, don’t you think? We added custom roman shades, window seat cushions and lots of traditional but classic and timeless furniture pieces to create separate sitting areas. OH, and that chandelier!!!! :)

I love this Visual Comfort & Co piece from Julie Neill’s collection.

Another before shot…

And after (before the bar was installed so ignore the plain settee in the corner).

I just love the combination of rich green, lighter blues and lots of textured neutrals.

I love using back to back sofas in long narrow living spaces with a console between! It creates two separate but connected areas to entertain in.

A pretty detail shot.

This area is the MOST fun… BEFORE:

And AFTER!!!  Now an incredible bar area!

Eliza, who was the managing designer on this project, really knocked this built in out of the park!  And notice the ceiling!

A striated, textured grasscloth adds so much interest here!

We love seeing projects like this come to fruition, even though we can’t be there in person. And we do this ALL over the country! We are currently booking new projects for November 2021, so if you are interested in working with us please fill out the questionnaire on the website to start the discussion.
