To continue on my “fall is coming” excitement, I decided to blog about kids clothes today for back to school! I know in the south this happens sooner than up north- so perhaps this is not as premature as I thought it might be! Buying clothes for Henry is basically my 4th job, so I am pretty good at finding adorable styles that make him look like a tiny grown up. I know my time is running out until we enter the “all Under Armour all the time” phase, from what I’m told, so I delight in still being able to dress him. You won’t find me suggesting $200 Golden goose sneakers or Gucci tracksuits here though (I am honestly HORRIFIED by the prices of designer kids wear). I find such amazing things at Old Navy, H&M and J.Crew Factory and when I want to go fancier- the quality of places like Boden, Tea Collection, Crewcuts and Maisonette is pretty awesome.
Links are not working within image right now so while I try to fix shop these here:

From a teacher…send them back to school in whatever they like to wear but, please, appropriate shoes.
They will be running on the playground….tennis shoes and closed toe shoes. School starts this week and kids will be in the nurses office with injured toes and feet from flip-flops, slippery soles and exposed toes.
Not all of the products in the image are in your widget. Like that floral backpack. Where is it from?
I totally agree. Don’t forget Zara too.
We have good luck at Target, my 9 yr olds want sport clothes and that is fine. They get good use and wear those clothes out. And I don’t get upset if torn or messed up. Targets Cat & Jack brand is pretty good too. Fun T-shirt’s, some dressier options, good Jean selection. Dress up for my kids is a nice collared shirt, nice short and sometimes they thrown on their $20 navy blazer…I’ll take it! Boys clothes have gotten better as far as options over the years. Thank for always posting great content.
I recently came upon a Janie & Jack store while on vacation in Carmel, did not know they used to be part of Gymboree. (I went in to look for something for my granddaughter) Was told that Gap bought them recently. They are a little higher price point than Baby Gap but have great sales. My daughter is pregnant now with a boy but the clothes for the boys look pretty preppy. Don’t know if my macho son-in-law would be on board with that lol…speaking of Under Armour that’s was he wears some of the time so their boy will probably hit that phase too!
Also discovered recently that Zara carries (adorable) baby & kid’s clothes. Who knew?

Please do a post on fashion for teen girls!
I love all of these picks! They’re so cute!
I had so much fun dressing my son when he was little but now he will only wear tee shirts and blue jeans. He is coming up on the preteen years, so I am dreading the matching basketball shorts and tech tees that are probably in my future. Ugh!
Boy do I miss those days. I was lucky and managed to make it until around 3rd grade before my son started to boycott “nice” clothes. My daughter started to exert her opinions a little earlier and, now that she’s in high school, she waivers between cute skirts with jean jackets and looking like she rolled out of bed and barely had time to throw on way too big sweatpants and her hair in a messy topknot. Enjoy it while you can still control what Henry wears!
So cute. My son has entered the Nike UA all the time phase and its 👎. I miss buying all the little boy stuff! For girls Zara kids is awesome too
Same. The “athleisure bug” hit us pretty early at around 3.5 years…
I’d happily wear most of those looks … even though I’m not a tiny grown up. I’m 69 3/4 going on 70 (okay, actually 69 11/12 but that just sounds weird). Actually I already own many of those looks. Wish they looked as good on me as they do on Henry.
