Since the weather is chilly (and here to stay for a long while) I thought I’d pull together some great fireplace accessory pairings for those who have asked previously about just how to combine them to create an attractive hearth. For wood burning fireplaces, a screen is a MUST, as are tools and andirons. If you have a fireplace that is non-functioning don’t leave it bare- use andirons and a big stack of birch logs to create visual interest, or use a candelabra and screen for a romantic look. If you have a gas fireplace, look into getting custom doors made through a local fireplace shop. I just replaced mine when we did our sunroom renovation and they make a HUGE difference over the shiny brass monstrosity we had previously.
Here are some suggestions for pairings- from modern to traditional!
Love this! What are the materials that you like to see in a fireplace, as far as stone, etc… for surround and threshold?
I have #1 crate and barrel screen and I love it!!! Makes a statement in my Living Room! Classic!
I miss our wood-burning fireplace; even if it didn’t have a real mantle, just a niche to display a small arrangement. I miss our romantic fireplace screen and fireplace fender. I don’t miss cleaning out the ashes and hauling in the wood.
