I Want to Go To There: Graybarns
This time of year always makes me crave clean spaces, solitude and calm. Which pretty much sums up the Graybarns Inn & Tavern in Norwalk, CT. Holy smokes, this place looks like a little bit of country heaven! I’m loving the simple, rustic decor and the incredibly charming architecture! It’s a historically rich property (with a past as a textile mill, speakeasy and inn where Liz Taylor and Eddie fisher honeymooned) that has been brought back to life.
I am a New England girl through and through so the exterior is totally my jam.
And I love the simple but striking interiors done by the proprietor Marsha Glazer.
Modern rustic at it’s best.
The exterior images have me craving warm weather too.
The Tavern is an extension of the elegant country look.

The developer and owner of the property also developed a little residential enclave on the property. DYYYYYIIIINNNNGGGG.
Has anyone been? Looks to me to be the perfect spot for a cozy weekend away!

Had my birthday dinner there on Saturday night. Loved the food, atmosphere and service was great! Can’t wait to go back
Husband and I stayed there many many years ago when it was called the Silvermine Tavern and Inn. Guess we should go back!
I love this! No trendy wallpaper or tile or crazy patterned pillows, just beautiful classic neutral interiors with the wood accents against the all the white being the major statement. Stunning!
We live five minutes away and went for dinner recently. I agree with above commenter that is was very loud, and we had also heard that the food was only ok, but we were happily surprised with our excellent meal and are already looking forward to going back. The cocktail menu is also wonderful and they have a nice bar area.
I have been. The buildings and interiors are stunning. However, I would suggest eating elsewhere. The food is expensive and mediocre. The noise level was so deafening that are table of 4 could not hear one another. There are better restaurants in Westport, CT.
Looks like the perfect place for a weekend getaway!
