One of the biggest trends right now is “athleisure” (a term I kind of hate, but…). A mix of athletic gear and more refined styling, this is perfection for busy moms, students and basically anyone who prefers to be comfy over constrained. But you don’t want to look like you came right from the gym (even if you have)- so here are some ways to look put together and modern, while also being able to run after a maniac toddler with ease. The key is a stylish top layer (like this Gap sweatshirt I have in three colors and am obsessed with) and popping on some fun jewelry and a big bag roomy enough to hold TONS of crap! :)
I love this knit blazer- it looks so finished and yet cozy atop any outfit. Add a big fun necklace (I’ve been wearing this one non-stop) and make sure your leggings have cool rose gold hardware and you’re all good!
This sweatshirt has such an Audrey Hepburn vibe with the high-wide neck. Perfect paired with patterned tights, bad ass sneaks and some fun jewels.
Faux-leather look track pants paired with a boxy cashmere sweater, big mdoern earrings and leopard slip on sneaks? Coolest gal in the pick up line!
And speaking of leisure, there isn’t anything more leisurely than pajamas and I had to share these two sources I just found for fabulous, adorable jammies.
Petite Plume might be the most darling source for little kid pajamas EVER. And then I saw there were matching mommy (and daddy) jammies too. I may or may not have a (monogrammed!) pair for Henry and myself on its way to me right now….. #instagramgold
And for super luxurious- but yet washable- silk and cashmere pajamas for you, check out Lunya. My girlfriend told me about them last night and said their washable silk sleep set is insanely comfy (but also, can you even IMAGINE a full cashmere sweatsuit?) Time for a sleepwear upgrade, y’all!
A debt of gratitude is in order for setting aside the opportunity to examine this, I feel emphatically about it and love discovering extra on this theme. In the event that doable, as you obtain aptitude, would you musings overhauling your blog with a great deal more points of interest? It is amazingly valuable for me. Visit: http://vaazinterior.com

Hi Erin (or any other commenters with ideas!)
Idea for a future fashion Friday post–we are taking the kids to Disney World in April. We are going to walk 5 zillion miles a day, but I find my normal running sneakers can get very hot when just walking around and standing in line. Looking for outfits–especially ideas for shoes!!–that are comfortable for all the walking but don’t look like I’ve given up on life. (Spring athleisure is definitely an option, but one or two of the nights we have dinner reservations at nicer places and I don’t think that will fly.)
Thanks!!!
Love your fashion posts! I work at a tech company where we can pretty much wear what we want so sometimes I do try to push into the “athleisure” category of clothes and mix it up. Great ideas for those of us who don’t want to wear real pants everyday #me :)
obsessed with those gold & black nike sneakers!
i think i might have to buy.
ALSO – I’ve been looking for that Jacquard funnel neck pullover, it’s sold out everywhere! BOO
I have the funnel neck pullover in few colors (thanks to Erin! got one and had to keep going back for more…) and they do restock sporadically. If you check the Gap site once or twice a week, you may find that a few colors reappear in a few sizes. Or at least, that was my experience over the last few months. Hopefully they’ll bring it back, good luck!
(And they do run a little big, FWIW. I’m usually a small in tops, and have found the size small turtleneck is fairly roomy on me… and I’m 7 months pregnant! I have an XS tucked away to wear next year.)
My teenage daughter is going to see Cate Blanchett’s Broadway play in 2 weeks, which reminded me of how Cate regularly kills it on the red carpet.
If you’re open to suggestions for a future Fashion Friday post, I’d love to see one that is inspired by Cate Blanchett’s clothing style. I love both her street-style and red carpet looks.
Apologies if you’ve done one before and I forgot. #workingmom #dataoverload
Once again, you’ve read my mind with your fashion post, love it all Erin!!!
Love your athleisure looks, and I actually like that word is that bad!? I’m in workout clothes far more often than I’d like to admit, but I still draw the line at traveling and being at the airport and traveling in anything of the sort because I still can’t disassociate it with the juicy couture tracksuits of the past!
The Sarcastic Blonde
I purchased Petite Plume pajamas for my 3 kids for Christmas (2 boys and one girl) and they are darling. Very well made and just adorable on…frankly I think they get better with each wash! Lovely Choice that I think you will be very pleased with!
This post is inspiring. I’m not entirely convinced that jewelry will elevate my leggings and New Balances to “stylish,” but it’s worth a try. I suppose it’s implied that one must also do her hair and makeup?!
okay that Audrey sweatshirt?! So good. I love the leopard slip one too- such good finds Erin!
