Felix Doolittle has become an EOS holiday staple gift source, which delights me to no end as they are a darling local Newton, MA based company that creates beautiful illustrated paper goods (also, Oprah named them “her favorite stationery” too so, you know, there’s THAT). This year we feature them again, not only because so many of you loved them too, but also because they have new items available this season perfect for gifting (and also, because I love supporting small businesses like this!)
One of the new items they have are larger 16″ x 20″ art prints of Felix’s watercolors. I can’t get over how gorgeous they are, and I was so interested to find out about Felix Fu’s story behind his amazing talent. His passion for drawing began as a youngster growing up in Hong Kong where to be appointed a provincial government official in China, the candidate had to excel in painting, calligraphy, and poetry– Felix’s grandfather was one such an official. But as generations and the local culture changed, Felix’s continued love of drawing and the arts was not encouraged, especially as he often chose to draw instead of concentrating on the lesson at hand in school, or later, drawing instead of doing his homework. He kept his drawings small so they could be easily hidden by a cupped hand. And his love of painting and drawing in small scale grew from there! So now painting on an 8′ x 10″ sheet of paper feels absolutely HUGE to him!
Here are some of the large prints on a wall!
Felix at work on his “large” pieces :)
His more standard tiny paintings shown here (this paper is 3.5″ x 5″– and look at the detail on that fern! Amazing!)
Today I get to give away THREE of the large prints to three lucky winners! Perfect for children’s rooms or powder rooms (or to give someone as a gift this season!) You can see them all here (only the first 10 are available large- the animals are not yet!). To enter please comment on which one you would like and I will pick winners tomorrow!
Also, for gifting we are offering you guys 15% OFF SITE WIDE UNTIL DEC 31st! Use code FDCHEER16. Here are some of the 8″ x 10″ prints I looooooooove. Like, really love- especially in a grouping in a child’s room.
I also love the darling bench and hat prints!
Another new item perfect for gifting is their desk calendar featuring illustrations of scenes across America! It’s lovely.
I am giving some gifts this year of books paired with their new bookmark sets! How insanely gorgeous is this Serengeti one???
Classic gifts- their adorable return address labels. Always adored (MOM, I SEE YOU LOOKING AT THE GOLDEN RETRIEVER ONES! DO NOT BUY THEM FOR YOURSELF! SANTA WILL!)
Also, these gifting labels are available with a variety of sentiments and illustrations. Great for gorgeous packaging this year!
Bookplates and medallions also make a great gift for a voracious reader!
Or chef medallions or kitchen labels for someone you know loves to cook, can, bake!
And naturally, stationery. Lovely, personalized stationery will NEVER go out of style, nor will kind handwritten letters and notes!
For those who are local and would like to see the items in person- they opened an adorable shop in West Newton called The Paper Mouse! Stop in to pick up some goodies or perhaps take a calligraphy class!
** This post is sponsored by Felix Doolittle. All opinions, commentary and selections are my own. Thank you for supporting businesses like these who help keep EOS going!

WOW! What an amazing talent. His work is captivating. If I were to win it would definitely be the oak tree. We just moved to a new community and we chose our lot becasue at the end of the street there is a majestic old oak tree that has been here since the days of John Muir, whose home is across the main street from our community. Oak trees have a spot in my heart, so that is what and why I would choose it!!

I love the Oak Tree! Thanks for sharing, Erin!
English Oak!
So talented! So maybe I shouldn’t be frustrated when my own children doodle instead of working on their homework b/c maybe they, too, will be a brilliant artist someday?!? :-) His work is amazing. If I hadn’t actually finished my shopping already, I would strongly consider ordering his work. That tree…that would be my pick. Our family tree is a bit wonky…we have a few biological children and we have some adopted children. Our son that we have had since birth, has the most amazing birth parents who are our heroes. They are very much a part of our family and thus extend off a few branches in our tree. Two of our boys are from Ethiopia and that tree resembles the few we saw standing…so majestic in a field so beautiful yet baron b/c most everything was burned for fuel in the 80’s and again in the last decade when they have suffered so greatly. Because of how complicated our family tree looks, I have avoided an actual tree print where names are filled in, and have been focusing on finding the perfect looking tree that represents who we are as a family. I LOVE that tree!
I would get the polar bear swimming. My daughters best friend left Her small school and it’s been hard for her, especially starting middle school. I like it because it epitomizes that anything CAN really happen!
All three are just beautiful. I’d love the mighty oak.
Love the english oak print!
I love the tree prints so much!!!! Gorgeous.
The BEAR is my absolute favorite, though i would love any of his prints. I have been taking watercolor classes from a local artist for a few years now and continue to gain more and more appreciation for the craft and talent.
Love their work. Have bought paperweights and bookmarks in the past and will have to find my way to the bricks and mortar store.
I would LOVE any print They are unique and special and make you smile!
The cheetah print is amazing! We went to the Serengeti on our honeymoon and spent several days driving around looking for a cheetah, with no luck seeing one. So it would be kind of funny to have the cheetah print to remind us of our honeymoon!
I’d choose the English oak. Those address labels are beautiful, too!
Thank you for introducing me to this talented artist! Winning one of his works would be such a treat! I love the bear but would probably choose the gracious English Oak. Thanks!

I love the whalerider print! I’ve used Felix Doolittle bookplates for book themed baby shower or childs birthday. Everything they create is beautiful.
I live in West Roxbury, will try to visit the store as well.
What a talent! I love “Backyard Treasure”!
Hi Erin,
I’d love to be the winner of Whalerider! This sweet print would be a thoughtful reminder of all the whales we’ve recently seen here at the Jersey Shore.
Happy Holidays!
Oh goodness I was just thinking today that my sons room needs more art.
I’m feeling a weakness for Buffalo. And the smaller Whale Rider, Polar Bear & Seals…love the movement. Thanks for coupon codes!!
Elephant, but they are all so cute!
These are perfect! I wish I had talent, of any sort really. But if I do t have talent, I’d settle for that beautiful Buffalo print! :)

I have ALWAYS loved his work. Received a Christmas card almost a decade ago.
His work is amazing.

Why have I never thought of personalized book plates for gifts?!
For the contest I have to say the Buffalo, reminds me of my WNY home. Though that bookshelf, squee

Oh wow!! I would love the English oak or darling bench print. I had no idea (not sure how I missed it) and that EOS had a relationship with Felix. He did my wedding invitations 12 years ago. We found him word of mouth and he drew the most amazing Boston public garden scene for us. Love him. I haven’t kept track and am thrilled to see all his work. I would love the tree as a memory to when we worked together years ago. So beautiful!
Oh my goodness!! Love them all, but especially the Backyard Treasure. Can’t wait to explore more of his work!
Love the buffalo!
What beautiful work! I especially like the Rainbow Speckled Trout – the colors make me happy!
Very dear for someone very dear
They are all so lovely. I really love the Favorite Things print.
I love this! I live in JP and will definitely visit the adorbs store! My favorite prints are the Narwhale and seersucker bow tie- both would be great in my son’s first ‘big boy room,’ as we transition him out of the nursery to make room for his sibling arriving spring 2017!
Love the buffalo print!
I love the giraffe!
Favorite Things (it might become my favorite thing)! Can’t wait to visit his shop next time I’m in the area.

Favorite things is my favorite! My four year olds favorite things are all pictured – dinos, rockets, boats and books! Love it.
Hi Erin!
I love the buffalo print and would LOVE to give that to my dad for Christmas.
I have a blog post idea for you! The best paint colors for dimly lit rooms (such as north facing rooms, rooms without a lot of natural night in general, and basement rooms.)
I painted my bedroom Pink Damask by BM and it really didn’t do me any favors…I need help!
Thanks!
I have bought Felix Doolitle gifts many times and I adore his stationary! I am in LOVE with the goldfish bowl!! Although, I know my husband , an avid fly fisherman would adore the rainbow trout. I’ll have to make the selfish vote and hope I am the lucky winner of the Goldfish Bowl : )
The buffalo! My husband and I often remind each other to engage challenges like the buffalo. Unlike cattle who run away from the storm and thus get stuck in the torment longer, buffalo run straight into it, engaging the struggle upfront and finding peace quickly. “Be the buffalo!”
Would love any of the prints. Truly.
The Tree. My husband and I were married in front a beautiful tree on the Georgia coast. Trees have become a part of our life together.
I love the speckled trout!
Love the buffalo!
Hey Erin,
I would love to win the Straw Hat piece for my mudroom. It needs some love! Also – love your blog, your book and your life – thanks for being such a happy point in my day!
Tamara

So cute!! I would love the Goldfish Bowl!!! What charming bowl
The hat picture. My parents always wear hats and have nails above the coat hooks for their hats. When they go for walks, they each pick their hat. (My mom reads the blog but I don’t know if she reads the comments, if so – Hi Mom! That print reminds me of you :)
I love the blue feather one! The very dear is also so, so precious for my daughter’s room.
Would love the buffalo one for my office at an environmental non-profit!
Love his art! Hard to choose a favorite: the goldfish bowl? the buffalo? Have his zebra calling cards, thanks to your mention years ago on the blog. Only problem: they’re almost too precious to give away!

Hi! Did you see your book displayed on Fixer Upper last night? I was psyched for you! I love the painting of the tree.I love trees. Arbor day holds a special place in my heart because Jordan Marsh use to give out saplings on Arbor Day. My Dad and I would plant them. BUT honestly any print would do, they are awesome!

Wow!!! I love these sweet and sophisticated pieces. The first one (with dinosaur and other toys) or the buffalo would be so sweet framed in my son’s nursery. I’m from a family of all women and have been having a lot of fun preparing for his arrival in March. Snips and snails and puppy dog tails :)
Love Felix! He did my wedding invitations. My fave print is of the standing bear.
I have been looking at his work almost once a week since I saw Henry’s’ cute bookplate. The English oak is so striking as probably my favorite. I ordered the calandra for my grandma and was so amazed at the pictures when it arrived. I hope someday he makes larger prints of the American landscapes!
The bear or the giraffe would be so cute in my daughter’s room!
The tree is beautiful!

I adore Felix’s work! Have been a fan since I received the most lovely note from a friend a few years ago on his paper; I still use it as a bookmark today. I am drawn to the fern – the detail is incredible! And there’s always a place for a little green in any room…

What a local treasure! Just ordered the desk calendar for my MIL. Thank you!
I love the English oak and the beach scene. His work is amazing.
The English Oak Tree has so much quiet grace and beauty. I would frame and hang it in my Mom’s room — though she’s now living with Alzheimer’s, I think it would bring back happy memories of the trees she loved in the backyard of her former home where she lived for 50 years.
Thanks for the opportunity, Erin ;-)
Beautiful! I’d love the trout
I love the Berry Bear. So perfect for the boy’s room and it reminds me of Maine.

Drooling over the retro typewriter print. Thanks for posting his art, always great to know where to find great artwork!
Love the buffalo!
My son would love sir mousey or the standing bear.
I would choose the darling bench with the books on it. As a high school reading teacher and an avid reader, I would love to frame this and hang it in my classroom. I’m always trying to make my room look less institutional and more inviting. Thank you for introducing me to his work and to the shop The Paper Mouse.
I would love the buffalo for my new nephew!
I am a forest bather so I love the tree. Being out in nature makes me so happy. When it is winter in New York seeing pictures of beautiful green trees helps me make it to the spring.
The detail in these drawings is divine. I love the trees, especially at this time of year when all (or most)of the trees have dropped their leaves , and it’s dark in the late afternoon. The picture is light and happy, and it’s been a tough fall – no pun intended. Great stuff!
Am I too late? I love these Felix Doolittle prints!! I’d choose the tree; hope I win! Thanks.
The English Oak… It would be a perfect addition in my cabin, near tree line, at 10,000 feet in Colorado. I miss the big, beautiful oaks trees in New England.
I adore the Buffalo!
