Fashion Friday (Part 2): Jenny Packham

Friday, June 10th, 2011

How GORGEOUS did Kate Middleton look this week while attending a charity event with her prince in a stunning Jenny Packham number?

It reminded me of how much I LOVE Jenny’s work. LOVE LOVE LOVE. Shall I ever grace a red carpet, I would want to wear one of her amazing dresses.

And where was she when I was getting married??? Absolutely loving her bridal looks as well….

Table for…100?

Monday, April 25th, 2011

Have you ever seen a more gorgeous communal wedding table ever in your life??? I would love to be celebrating something here!

And the other details are just as gorgeous…

The yellow and white fabric by Thomas Paul for Duralee on tables and chairs….The MAGNIFICENT yellow variety of dresses on the bridesmaids. I love the mix and match look!

Succulents mixed into a country bouquet.

A decorative chalkboard handwritten menu (saves on printing and yet oozes charm!)

These chairs are so much better than typical wedding fold-up jobs.

Sponsor Welcome: Boutique Design

Sunday, April 3rd, 2011

While I am on vacation this week I’ll still be blogging here and there from the islands with dedicated daily posts welcoming my fabulous new slew of sponsors that help keep this blog going! Today I am delighted to welcome Boutique Design, a New England based event planning company that crafts delightful, stylish, detail-oriented events (weddings, specifically).  I am particularly wedding focused right now as my youngest brother proposed to his amazing girlfriend not two weeks ago and I am helping them plan their wedding (congrats Connor and Lizzie- I promise not to interfere with my hyper event planning enthusiasm)! Check out these fabulous snapshots from some of Boutique Design’s past events and contact them for your wedding panning needs!

And speaking of weddings- not all of us can spend six figures on the quadruple tiered silk taffeta crystal encrusted event of our dreams- but you don;t have to in order to have an INCREDIBLE event.  Have you checked out the budget friendly new Vera Wang line at David’s Bridal ? ( Disclaimer: I still hold a grudge against Vera Wang for my wedding dress catastrophe but I had to share this source….even thoug it kills me to make her more money.)

These two one shouldered numbers are amazing and are $1,200 and $600 respectively. I friggin’ love them. And as someone who lost a massive deposit on a dress that I was mis-measured for (ahem…VERA…ahem) and then spend a small fortune on another quick pick dress (Monique Lhullier) that was on me for all of 8 hours and now sits in a sad little box in my closet at home, I can say with all honesty -don’t spend a fortune on your dress unless you sleep on a mattress stuffed with money. It’s silly and the biggest mistake I made at my wedding.  Ignore the label, trust your instincts.

Or how about this two in one dress where you can zip off the skirt to make a second look for dancing? Brills.

OK, off I go for some vitamin d and a little glow!
