I’ve had so many companies offer me stuff to give away to you lately it’s amazing! I only pick the things I really love and know you will too so I hope you find it exciting!  This newest giveaway is from Perricone M.D., the oft lauded skin care product company that makes lotions, potions creams and even supplements and anti-oxidant loaded snacks (99 Bite Bars) all aimed at helping you look younger.  Since entering my 30′s I have been in search of a great night cream to help replenish my skin while I sleep- I can no longer go to bed with makeup on and no cream and wake up looking refreshed! Perricone’s Cold Plasma cream is a high tech new product that claims to heal what ails me. Dr. Perricone even wrote a book detailing his scientific discovery and findings behind Cold Plasma called Forever Young (if you pre-order it on Amazon you get a free jar of Concentrated Restorative Treatment worth $75!) Why don’t we both try it out? I’m giving a jar of it away (worth $150)- so leave a comment about why you want and need this miracle worker and I’ll announce the winner next Monday! In the meantime, you can get free samples online (you just have to pay $4.95 in shipping)

When Erin first asked me to participate in her fun, new “Product Junkies” series, my mind was spinning. How would I ever narrow my selection down to just one product? There are so many products that I love and use regularly: skin care products, hair products, and of course, make-up. The more I thought about it, I knew that I wanted to share a product with the readers of Elements of Style that would truly knock your socks off; something with nearly immediate, impressive results. With most products, you might notice a difference over the course of a few weeks, but that definitely is not the case with Mario Badescu’s Drying Lotion.

I am very fortunate in that I have what the skin care people refer to as “normal” skin. It’s neither dry nor oily and my main complaint are the dark circles that I inherited from my mom’s side of the family. Aside from that, my skin situation is pretty copacetic. However, every now and again I’ll get a dreaded pimple, but I no longer stress about them or nurse them for a week until they go away. Anytime I feel a blemish coming on, I turn to my Badescu Drying Lotion. I always apply it at night, after washing and moisturizing my face. It is a solution made up of a dense, pink liquid on the bottom and a clear liquid on the top. The instructions say not to shake it, so you just dip a cotton swab into the bottle, dab it on your blemish, and by morning it’s either gone or much improved!

Here’s this week’s product recommendation from Glimpse of Glamour’s Samantha Chu!

If you had asked me a few years ago what was the one beauty product that I would take with me if I were stranded on a deserted island, I would have told you hands down that I could not survive (even a single day) without my Shu Uemera eye lash curler. In the past, I have been known to whip out my eye lash curler at inappropriate moments, (for example, while riding on the train, or driving a car with one hand), in hopes that somehow this magical contraption would take my lashes to new lengths while simultaneously curling them. Never happened. In addition to the amount of time I have spent curling my eyelashes, I have also spent hundreds of dollars trying to find that elusive mascara that will somehow change my lashes and my life FOREVER. Still looking!

Lately, I have resolved that unless I want to pony up for eyelash extensions, or spend my mornings painstakingly gluing fake eyelashes onto my upper eyelid, I am going to have to accept my stick straight eyelashes and move on. With that said, I would like to introduce my very favorite beauty product, the one that I could not live without, and that is: MAC Fluid Line.

Some people can get by with a dab of lipgloss and a swipe of mascara. Others, like myself, need a little something extra.  For me that something extra is undoubtedly Mac Fluid Line in the color Black Track.  I honestly don’t feel like I have eyes until I put it on. Now, I am sure most of you have heard of smudge pots before, but if you are still dragging a scratchy eyeliner pencil across your eyelid or shakily attempting to use a messy liquid liner, I give you the answer to all of your eye makeup applying woes.

Using the slanted brush #208, MAC Fluidline glides on evenly with minimal effort or skill. It stays put the entire day and can be applied heavily on the upper and lower eyelid for a dramatic appearance, or closer to the lash line for a softer, subtle look. Fluidline is available in a range of colors from grey to blue to deep purple and at $15 a pop, you can experiment with a number of shades without the guilt! Can I also take a moment to mention the fact that because you generally do not use that much per application, one pot of Fluidline will last you for like, ever?  So, in conclusion, if you are short on time, money and patience, MAC Fluidline is the perfect addition to your makeup bag. Your eyes (and your wallet) will thank you.
