For the Love of Dogs

Tuesday, November 22nd, 2011

Ok, I happen to be one of the people who think Ryan Gosling was ROBBED for People’s Sexiest Man Alive 2011 title, however, when I saw this picture of Bradley Cooper in his home and read that the huge photograph above him was of his beloved dog who passed away my heart skipped a beat. Not only is that so wonderfully loving, but isn’t a fantastic piece of modern art? One that has such personal meaning but also is so visually striking? It got me thinking about getting my boys photographed and so I went in search of pet photographers….

And of course the one I fell in love with lives in SEATTLE. Bummer, but just look at photographer Erin Vey’s work! She captures dogs in SUCH a magnificent way I could post 6,000 images I love. If you love her work and don;t live in the Seattle area you can actually buy prints of her work (printed up to a scale such as Bradley’s above) on her stock image site The Barkives! You can search by breed or featured aprt (tail, nose, etc.) So adorable.

Fashion Friday: French Girls Just Do It Better

Friday, August 12th, 2011

I think I have blogged about Les Composantes before, but after perusing the fashion label’s blog for an hour I had to post some more because I am so inspired by the images on there.  I want to dress, live, work and be more French!  The laid back, feminine style is just so effortless looking. Never too trendy or overdone. It’s exactly how I want my home and my closet to be! Can I make a new resolution in August? I shall.

I only wish I could read French and know what she was writing about! Did I mention that the woman behind this brand (and the lens) is like, the most adorable thing ever? Just look!

And her clothing/bags and lifestyle shoots for her brand are FABOOSH. (yes, I’m bringing “faboosh” back).

Her new office! Are you kidding me with those herringbone floors and moulding??? Ahhhhh, love it!!!

Eric Cahan’s Sunsets

Tuesday, July 19th, 2011

Hmm, maybe this will work? Anywhoo, I was reading the fab Erin’s Design for Mankind the other day and fell fast and hard for the photography of Eric Cahan. Who doesn’t LOVE the spectacle of a good sunset? I mean, really!?  Isn’t it one of nature’s most amazing shows?  Each image is labeled with it’s location (Southampton, Palm Beach, Brazil, St. Barths, etc.) and the exact time it was captured.  These would be spectacular reminders of a place you love (and I can picture them in a gorgeous beach home).
