Chicest Ad Campaign EVER.

Wednesday, May 22nd, 2013

Is this Ferragamo campaign shot by Claiborne Swanson Frank not the more gorgeous, wonderful thing ever? I love seeing how each of these fashionable ladies styled herself and her custom Ferragamo L’Iacona shoes. I am obsessed with the details- not only of the outfits but of the settings and spaces too.

I would friggin’ sell my soul for this coat. And these legs.

This is just the most killer portrait… and sofa. And legs, again.

Lauren Santo Domingo’s whole look slays me- head to toe, I must have it. And the setting too (Paris).

The yellow, gold, green, wall molding and tiger (sadface).

The orange and turquoise combo- kill me. So good.

This is summer perfection to a T.

PREPPY HEAVEN! That room too- amazing!!!!

Oh Olivia. You are so lovely.

Love everything about this. The olive trench is just everything.

So elegant. That building too!

All black in Paris. Perfect.

The flowers, the colors…. just mind blowingly pretty.

Edgy, cool and colorful.

If I had to choose I’d probably do all black becasue I’m boring/classic like that.  Or maybe nude with black– you know, get crazy.  It’s not a shoe I’d typically be drawn to, as it seems a little granny-chic.  But now that I’ve seen this campaign, they have redefined it for a new generation and now I’m into it (the flats at least, the chunky low heel, not as much)!  Pretty genius, right?

See the monogram on the sole? So cute!

And did I mention how insanely gorgeous and lovely Clairborne Swanson Frank is? You’ve all seen her apartment in Elle Decor! I know we’d be best friends because of that leopard bench. It’s telling.

Yes, that’s her. I know…… We don’t even have to talk about it.

Animal Print Shop Giveaway!

Tuesday, December 18th, 2012

Thank you all for your wonderfully thoughtful comments and emails regarding yesterday’s post.  What a brilliant group of readers I have! So grateful for you all. Now to spread some smiles around let’s change things up with…. BABY ANIMALS!

Nothing makes me to grin wider than furry little loves so when photographer Sharon Montrose became a blog sponsor I was beside myself with glee. I think I should make a little room in my house a “happy room” and just put tons of these awesome Animal Print Shop pictures up so I can go in there when I’ve got a bad case of the sads. They are some of my favorite things to use in nurseries and kids rooms and LUCKY YOU, Sharon is giving away a 16″ x 20″ limited edition print of any animal of your choice today!!!! Keep reading for how to enter….

I can’t even DEAL with these faces! Look at them! (I am talking in baby voice to my computer right now)

Can I have her job please?

This one cracks me up.

Check out this gorgeous Palm Springs nursery featured on Sharon’s blog by Morgan Satterfield (see Mr. Camel on the wall?)

Adults can use them too- don’t forget! This buffalo is pretty boss.

Actress Molly Sims used them in her nursery for her new son! See how awesome they look in a grid?

P.S. Her nursery is AMAZE.

Leave a comment below on which animal is your absolute favorite and like the Animal Print Shop Facebook page and we will email the winner next week!

The Exquisite Edelmans

Thursday, April 12th, 2012

Last month’s House Beautiful has a whole section which I happen to have dog-eared enthusiastically. Some pages so full of amazing ideas that I wish I could triple dog-ear it somehow.  What I found so inspiring was the CT home on Bonnie and John Edelman in Connecticut (my home state, hollllaaaa). What a completely amazing, wonderful, insanely awesome example of decorating this place is. A mix of modern, traditional, vintage, new, simple and exquisite!  And would you expect less from the couple- he, the president/CEO of Design Within Reach and she, a very talented photographer?

Zebra? Check. Horns? Check. Sunburst mirror? Check.

Sputnik, I love you.

Amazing gallery wall, obvi.

More tulip tables! Guess that’s a given when you run DWR.

Gorg. Love me an egg chair too.

GAH! I just keeled over dead. This picture is porn for me.

Gallery wall x a gazillion.

I mean, REALLY? This is the OUTDOOR kitchen and dining area? Can I hold my birthday party here for a fee?

Perfection. Absolute perfection. Can you imagine making s’mores and drinking wine here? I can. Just waiting for my invitation…. (crickets)

And how about Bonnie’s gorgeous equestrian photos? Who doesn’t love a large scale print of one of the most beautiful creatures on earth?

Book Club

Tuesday, April 10th, 2012

I absolutely love getting lost is a really good book. I especially love it when you read a passage that makes you feel so understood, not alone and above all, not crazy.  I have books underlined to the hilt of sentences that moved me so much that I need to not forget about them.  Which is why I absolutely love the work of photographer Juliette Tang. She sets still life vignettes using novels and surrounding them with accoutrement that reflect the story.  She also takes pictures of herself, and others reading, which give off such a relaxing feeling that it makes me want to stop typing and go read…

Just kidding. I must wait until tonight. But speaking of, have there been any books you’ve read lately that totally rocked your world? I personally can recommend Little Bee and Cutting For Stone HIGHLY. And since I’ve never read it or seen the movie, I am current;y deep into Prince of Tides and I am ENAMORED with Pat Conroy’s writing…. Share yours!

Adorable Overload

Wednesday, March 21st, 2012

I found out about the Animal Print Shop by Sharon Montrose from my pal Kyle Knight of Knight Moves blog and I simply HAD to share since everyone I know currently is having/has had a baby except for maybe one person. And he doesn’t have a uterus. I won’t even get into the fact that I bought one of the DVF for Gap Kids wrap dresses just in case I some day have a baby and it’s a girl. I’ll save that one for my shrink.

But you know how I feel about animals, never mind BABY animals. Did anyone watch Frozen Planet on Sunday? I nearly lapsed into a coma from those polar bear cubs!  I can imagine nothing cuter in a nursery than these modern photographic prints either in a series or one over-scale one! But you can also be a full size, able to feed yourself adult and sport one in a room too!

A few close ups to make you go “awwwwwww”

Good for adult spaces (how does nature create such a gorgeous pink that flamingos get to sport?)
