Summer Blues.

Sorry I went MIA yesterday– this week (and last) have been a beast.  Working motherhood sometimes kicks me in the ass and I just literally could not yesterday. Anyways, here I am with a little happy shot of color before everyone jaunts off for the holiday weekend.

Caitlin Wilson is a pro at happy, bright, bold color and her new summer collection of  accents and bistro chairs and stools do not stray from that. And a hefty portion of those goods in BLUE, which we all know I am obsessed with on all fronts right now. So I just wanted to quickly share them with you!

Everything shown here (my personal faves) are available on her e-commerce site! From rugs, to outdoor pillows, melamine tabletop and art. Lots to see.

Awesome Summer Giveaway with Dear Keaton!

When it comes to brands that become EOS sponsors I am picky. I always want to make sure that the brands I align myself with represent not only my aesthetic taste but also offer products I actually love and would happily use in my own home or for clients.  Dear Keaton has been with us since their inception and today they are celebrating their fist anniversary of being in business!  I am delighted to celebrate with them, as I know as a female small business owner how hard it is and how much work it takes to keep things moving forward!  So I rounded up some of my favorite items from their site, in both neutrals and blues ( my favorite colors) and check the bottom of the post for an AWESOME giveaway sure to make your summer a little better (and boozier)! :)

Their theme of “resort living everyday” works especially well as we move into the summer months!

Shopping Vintage on Etsy (Tips & Tricks Too!)

On a whim I bought this concrete bust of David on Etsy (from this shop) without any idea where it was going to go in our new studio. He now holds a place on our front console that is getting a great linen skirt made for it.

As designers, we shop on Etsy A LOT.  Not only for newly made or custom items (as detailed in this post), but for antique and vintage items too.  Etsy has become a bit of a “normal budget” 1stDibs in that there is some high end antique dealers, but mostly its small shops with decent prices for interesting goods.  You just have to dig a bit more as it is a bit less curated, but in the best way possible! You can still find amazing deals on lots of things on Etsy, where as some other online vintage shops you cannot.

A good example of this was when we were looking for a pair of vintage x-benches for a great project below (you only get a sneak peek here as we are pitching it to magazine right now).  We found the perfect set from an expensive vendor but perused Etsy to see if anyone else had a pair we could refinish.  And we found the EXACT pair we loved for about 1/4 of the price.  We had them repainted and reupholstered and they came out perfect and added that patina we were looking for in the space.

NEW FINDS FOR A NEW YEAR.

I don’t know about you but after the holidays I get the urge to purge the house and freshen things up.  Thankfully, a lot of my favorite sources have released new items for the new year. And since I am still in the newborn fog (which means every room is full of tons of baby apparatus, burp cloths, swaddles, pumps and bottles) I want to CLEAN HOUSE and have a fresh start for 2016.  Will it happen? Who knows, it’s a challenge for me to just write this blog a few days a week- but I plan to try!  Nothing helps me feel better than a clean, tidy, styled space. So here are some of the things I have my eye on…

POTTERY BARN
