I am not in “the family way” yet, so don’t go reading into this- I simply saw this Ovo high chair and yelled aloud “OHMYGOD! That is the best children’s design I have ever seen!!!!!!!” I mean, look at this thing, it’s freakin’ GENIUS. No longer an eyesore in your dining room or kitchen, this high chair would actually UPGRADE most interiors. No joke. I am head over heels. And of course, as expected, it has the price tag to match- and of course is only available on European sites for a painful 349 euros (about $477 for us). But given how much you use this thing and it’s flexibility (it transforms into a toddler chair) I think it’s worth the investment. Not to jinx myself, but I am almost tempted to buy it and stash it for whenever Baby Gates decides to come our way. Is that creepy?
Buy the white and deep navy chairs on this site. Also available with faux leather harness straps for a little more money.
If that’s the packaging this thing comes in then it’s even better. It’s not even fair to American high chairs.
Children’s room decor need not be cartoonish and juvenile- a great example of this design rule are these amazing prints by Leo Little Lion on Etsy! How fabulous are they? I love the wallpaper-like quality the patterns have and the font for the names! Such a fantastic gift for someone who has just had a baby or to decorate the walls of your own nursery!
Look at these adorable little rugs for kids by my friend and studio-mate Jennifer Hill and FizFelts! I think they are amazing for a playroom and even in a kids bathroom in front of the sink!
I found out about the Animal Print Shop by Sharon Montrose from my pal Kyle Knight of Knight Moves blog and I simply HAD to share since everyone I know currently is having/has had a baby except for maybe one person. And he doesn’t have a uterus. I won’t even get into the fact that I bought one of the DVF for Gap Kids wrap dresses just in case I some day have a baby and it’s a girl. I’ll save that one for my shrink.
But you know how I feel about animals, never mind BABY animals. Did anyone watch Frozen Planet on Sunday? I nearly lapsed into a coma from those polar bear cubs! I can imagine nothing cuter in a nursery than these modern photographic prints either in a series or one over-scale one! But you can also be a full size, able to feed yourself adult and sport one in a room too!
A few close ups to make you go “awwwwwww”
Good for adult spaces (how does nature create such a gorgeous pink that flamingos get to sport?)
Happy Fourth of July everyone! The fabulous Tobi Fairley asked Kelley Moore and I to take out little “Runway to Room to Tabletop” series over to her blog on this holiday and use an all-American theme to do it. We chose a look from the Tommy Hilfiger Spring 2011 runway that screams patriotic, classic, born in the USA style. Go to her blog to see the sources and Kelley’s picnic worthy tabletop, but here’s a peek at my guest bedroom/kid’s room….
I am so impressed with Restoration Hardware’s newest designs for baby and kids! Talk about stylish kids room decor- this stuff is basically sized down versions of their vintage inspired goods! Just check these out!
That first crib is my favesies- with it’s caning head and foot board (it also turns into the chicest toddler bed ever)! The canopy crib comes in a close second!
These beds come in twin or full- any of them would make amazing pair in a guest room if you don’t have little ones!
Bunks beds get chic in industrial metal or antiqued wood.
Dressers for boys with some serious edge!
WAY cool chairs done in a small scale (but with BIG price tags)
A fabulous rocker with wood legs!
This play table and chairs won’t be an eyesore in your main living area.
Some fabulous accessories!
Off to Brimfield today- be back tomorrow with a report and pics!
