You guys LOVED this and I love that you did because my own piece is so amazing!
The winner (drawn through Random.org) is Betsy Erickson (LizzyTish). Please email me your info and I’ll connect you with the Modern Bird peeps to get your piece started!
Call me crazy, but I have long wanted a painting of my furbabies Bax and Ollie. Not like a realistic oil painting of them posed and dressed as Sherlock Holmes and Watson or anything- but a funky, fun piece of art that represents my silly love bugs who bring me more joy than I can even put into words. No one is ever as happy to see me when I walk in the door than those two, and their funny antics, unconditional love and snuggles have gotten me through many a tough moment. In my opinion, owning a dog is one of the best parts of life. So when Modern Bird Studios contacted me about doing a giveaway and offering to create a super cool painting of any photograph I wanted, I knew it was time to turn my smelly little fellas into art!
Greg and Megan take a photo and using a combination of digital process and hand painting they produce a funky two color modern work of art on oak composite. Check out my own masterpiece!

I have yet to decide where to hang it, probably in the studio, but I LOVE it! I think this style of work would be fabulous in a nursery, family room or kids bedroom! It doesn’t even have to be a picture of people- it would be awesome to do them of your children’s favorite toys, or your husband’s favorite car!Check out these other pieces they’ve done:

There are days when I think “I have the BEST job in the world”. Yesterday was one of those days. I had a fabulous yoga class, great meeting with a new client and then came home to a huge box of samples from clothing line (and new EOS sponsor) Eden Blake. The fab Eden wanted me to see and feel the quality of the fabrics and clothes and so I spent a nice chunk of time last night playing dress up in luxurious silks, wools and tweeds (all the same fabrics used by lines such as Oscar de la Renta, Dior and Derek Lam). Produced by a small boutique production facility in Manhattan that does work for Carolina Hererra and Lela Rose, the pieces are not only cut and made beautifully but fit like a dream! I love that she names her pieces after style icons she loves such as Carolyn Bessette Kennedy, Jade Jagger, Audrey Hepburn, Daphne Guinness, Babe Paley and Aerin Lauder. Below are some of my Eden Blake favorites:
This long dress looked insane on! It comes in a gorgeous bright green which I might love even more! This dress on the right has very cool gold buttons down the sleeve that make it totally special and perfect for a night on the town but also totally appropriate for a wedding.

Love these two dresses (note: the vintage jewelry shown on the model will soone be available on Eden’s site as well, so check back!)

I was shocked how flattering the silk crepe pants were- really amazing.

Adorable jackets (the one on the right I tried on in black and I’m quite obsessed)

And you, my lucky, lucky readers, have the opportunity to win the Marina blouse (below and shown above in a couple different ways) in a choice of colors- worth $295!!!! It’s such a fabulous piece- amazing with jeans and a statement necklace for dinner out or tucked into a pencil skirt for work! Go over to the Eden Blake blog to enter the giveaway by leaving a comment on her post! On top of that. enjoy 20% off any purchase until Monday August 2nd!
*** The Eden Blake blog has to approve comments- your comment may not show up right away but don’t worry, you have entered if you left one!

I really believe that dogs are the greatest thing on earth. I love my little furry fellas more than life itself, perhaps a bit too much. I can be having the absolute worst day possible and then one of them will lay their little head on my lap, or in Baxter’s case actually give me a full on hug, and my stress is immediately diminished. If I could I’d keep adding new ones to our family collective, but I fear that might make me the “crazy dog lady”. Having experienced the joy of rescuing a dog (little Oliver was found on Petfinder- his name was Gates for crying out loud, it was destiny), I have a bleeding heart for them. Especially when that damn ASPCA ad comes on with the super sad Sarah McLachlan music and I have to run screaming from the room while covering my eyes or else I burst into full on ugly sobs. And I’m no crier!
Being this much of a dog lover means I love buying my dogs cool stuff. I stop at dressing them in clothes (Halloween being the only exception), but cute dog beds, collars, toys and the like typically find their way into my house on a regular basis. So when I got wind of this new dog line Blueblood Living and saw their amazing blend of home decor fabrics with doggie goods I was on cloud nine! The Greek Key collars and leads? You know how much I love Greek Key anything, so Baxter is now rocking the black and white version which nicely compliments his coloring. :) And the dog beds with Thomas Paul fabrics? Not even fair how cool they are. And lets not forget the reversible totes, enjoyable for those who don’t have dogs (including Kate Hudson who sports one in her new movie Something Borrowed).

And guess what? The generous gals at Blueblood are letting me give away one of EACH item to three lucky readers! AND for those who can;t wait, Blueblood is offering EOS readers a 30% off discount until July 15th with the code “ELEMENT” or get 20% off and free shipping for ALL of July with the code “july 4″. It’s baaaaaaaaaack. “What I’m Wearing” will be popping up now and again on Fridays when I feel I have a reasonably cute or interesting ensemble to show you guys. This week I had two items I was loving that I happened to be wearing together yesterday. This insanely comfy (and affordable at $95) caramel Eugenia dress from Calypso I bought last weekend paired with a necklace I found at Lord & Taylor months ago, leather and wood wedges from Franco Sarto (via TJ Maxx), a bangle from H&M and this ridiculously awesome pony hair clutch by Plank.
And guess what- the kind and talented founder of Plank, Doreen, gave me one to give away after I gushed to her about how much I loved them!!!! Yup, the blue and green version of this $200 clutch could be yours if you just leave a comment below! (P.S. if you need a new gym or yoga tote check out these- they are equally as killer as the clutch, I swear.)
This bad boy has credit card holders and a couple pockets inside so you can use it as a wallet and throw it into other larger purses for daytime and then pull it out and take it with you out in the evening. I simply adore how phenomenally it’s made (at the same factory as Tumi) and how much it makes me smile when I grab it. So excited I can gift one of them to one of you!
Entries will be accepted until the drawing on Monday morning at 8 a.m. so get on it!
