Fashion Friday: Emerson Fry Spring!

Friday, March 16th, 2012

Once an Etsy seller hawking beautiful fabric flowers under the name EmersonMade- now a full fledged fashion line with a new name for spring, Emerson Fry!  I am pretty crazy about some of the items in her new collection- take a peek!

This orange and white dress is amazing as is this zebra tunic (you know me and animal prints…)

I LOVE these tunics for summer- over a bathing suit or paired with faded bell botoms and wedges- fantastic.

How about those big chunky rings? Delish.

Crisp, fresh summertime looks. I need a sheer white tuxedo blouse all of the sudden. And how adorable is that skirt?

DYING over these loafters! Especially when paired with a vintage Persian carpet :)

PINK SUEDE HEELS! YES! And those cap toe slingbacks? Perfect for the office!

Congrats Emerson on a fantastic new line!

And just to remind you, my Joss & Main sale is NOW LIVE!!!! Lots of awesome stuff, so hustle over get shopping. It’ on until Monday morning!

Fashion (& Beauty) Friday: Currently Loving…

Friday, March 9th, 2012

Some things I’ve been currently really loving in the way of beauty and fashion….

I am HELLA lazy about washing my face at night.  It’s terrible. My pillowcase is always smudged with mascara…until now! I discovered Burt’s Bees Cleansing Towlettes! I looooove these things- they smell fantastic, take everything off and somehow make my skin feel so soft in the morning!

I recently bought the Urban Decay Naked 2 palette and while I’m not nuts about it, I AM nuts about the sample gloss it came with, their Lip Junkie in Naked. The perfect natural color and shine with an awesome peppermint taste and tingle. Going out to buy the big size!

This Chanel inspired jacket from J.Crew has actual chain sewn on the trim. Tough meets ladylike. I dig it.

I saw this Goyard wood trimmed clutch at Barney’s the the other day and almost died. Imagine it with their signature stripes and monogram. I’d carry nothing else. To bad it’s like $2,500.

Something about the Zara dress screams “you’ll have a fun night out in me!!!”

I saw these Rag & Bone tuxedo jeans in NYC the other day and I would LOVE them paired with a black blazer, sexy pumps and some statement jewels. SO fun!

I’ve tried a few dry shampoos (being someone who washes her hair every three days but works out) and they always leave me with powdery George Washington hair. Except for this one by Suave! Love the smell and it doesn’t make my hair feel full of junk, just a bit cleaner!

For some reason, I have like NO earrings.  Its something I never think to buy unless I need a specific pair for an event.  I saw these awesome Alexis Bittar ones and thought “I need those”. Simple but sparkly and elongating for the face and neck. But of course, I did not buy them. I tend to spend no more than $50 on earrings. That’s a lie, I usually spend $5 at H&M.

Fashion Friday: Pretty Peplums

Friday, March 2nd, 2012

I have been loving the onslaught of peplum styles as of late. Especially after reading the new Matchbook last night and seeing the outfit below left in their pages! The tight waist, flared hip cut can be super flattering on a bevy of shapes- defining a waist on a curvier body or adding some shape to a straight figure. Found on tops (my fave), jackets, dresses and skirts (least fave)- I prefer the more subtle versions rather than the Judy Jetson look of the more defined and severe ones.  See some variety of the style below (and click on the images for their sources)

Here are two outfits I put together using the trend- one more funky and casual and the other proper and pretty (and a mini-peplum for those nervous to try the look)- both topped with a classic black tuxedo blazer, of course. :)
