Today is Bastille Day, and as someone who loves all things French (especially their style) I wanted to round up some great items (many of which I have recently purchased and can vouch for) that remind me of simple, cool French girl style.

**That striped tee is $22.50 and THE BEST OUT THERE. I should know, I have 837 striped t-shirts.
** Sezane is a fab brand from France I love and the embroidered black tee and cute white dress are part of their summer sale. Check it out.
** The leather sandals are from my fave shoe peeps M. Gemi who is also having a very rare sale. I have these on my feet right now and luuuuuurve them. Hurry, sizes sell out so fast!
** I am also wearing that lace front J.Crew Factory sweater now (with white jeans and sandals above). At $44.50 it’s better than the regular J. Crew version.
** The makeup is part of the NARS x Charlotte Gainsbourg (essential French style icon) collection. Both classic, perfect products for that flushed/dewy cheek and smokey eye.
** The white button down is actually a bodysuit. I have it and its great (even for tall girls) to pair with high waisted skirts or wide leg pants.
** I also have the green bathing suit– LOVE. Flattering, good coverage and yet sexy and fashion forward!!!
** The swing dress is also something I bought– it HAS POCKETS and is comfy, affordable and looks great paired with a denim jacket.

Hello there – just looked at your blog for the first time… I have your book and refer to it all the time for design ideas!
I am really struggling with some patterned curtains and the pleating style…
Love a post of choosing pleating styles for different fabrics.
This is my dillema as follows:
Fabric: Geometric trellis design (Charles Parsons warhol sand)
Pleat type used: Inverted
Problem: The pleats have been done by measurement and fall any which where – I really would love a tailored accurate look where the pleats fall in the same part of the pattern every time… what what pleating style do you suggest??
Love to hear from you.
Oh my goodness, this is the greatest post! So many of these blogs I probably never would have found by myself but now I’ve just subscribed myself to a whole bunch of them. Thank you
oh i thought i was the only woman with a striped shirt problem…i keep saying no more and then i see one i can’t live without
I should have known you’d do Bastille Day with style. I want but don’t need ANOTHER striped Tee, but that price! I wore my favorite stripe yesterday (should have saved it for July 14 … what was I thinking?) Love the midi dress with POCKETS … might need that one. All your picks were classic plus a little something extra, very in keeping with French Girl Style.
You’ve got my back girl.
Love that French girl look! Those sezane finds are so pretty too.
