Artist Crush: Mary Nelson Sinclair

I finally got a minute to sit and read the new Domino while Henry took a nap and saw the work of artist Mary Nelson Sinclair and loved it. Probably because it has such a strong Cy Twombly vibe (whom I LOVE). I know people will think “I can do that! It’s just scribbles!”- I dare you to give it a try! It’s SO hard to do abstract art (I’ve said this a zillion times before, I know, but I fear it must bear repeating!)

Here is a piece of hers in her cool apartment:

And some more of her works on paper:

Here are more examples of her work, some available at Hidell Brooks Gallery and some from her website:

She also has some works that are a little less “scribbly” (you know, in professional artist terms…) :)

And in some other news I’ve shared on Instagram.

I was THRILLED that House Beautiful featured my new Delft collection with Jill Rosenwald in their Dec/ Jan issue  in the “The Best” section focusing on trends for 2016. :)

We have been working in a big project for a longtime client in Jackson Hole, Wyoming for the past year- a fabulous new construction ski home with amazing views of the mountain.  Things are starting to be installed and it’s so exciting to see things coming together!

Adding to my collection for M. Flynn we developed a great gift for mothers everywhere with these tiny birthstone charms with bezel set birthstones and monograms on the back. Here’s mine for Henry sharing chain space with my diamond horn pendant.  Subtle, small and so, so pretty layered. E-mail or call M. Flynn for more info as the charms are not up on the site yet!

And, speaking of my darling Henry, he keeps growing and getting cuter and cuter (in this mom’s opinion).  He’s a really good baby and I cannot believe he’s mine!

  1. Ditto on the comment that abstract art only looks easy. I took an art class in abstraction and all I achieved was using up a lot of art supplies.

    Henry looks adorable.

  2. I just flipped thru domino myself. I am feeling very very lukewarm to the last 2-3 issues. It is no longer feeling fresh or new to me. The first few issues after Domino returned had me swooning but the creative direction has changed and in my opinion not for the better. So sad! I wonder how other Domino fanatics are feeling…

  3. Henry “William Wallace” is one of the cutest baby ever. I know that Drew still calls him William Wallace in his head…LOL

  4. Oh my, those art pieces are gorgeous! I’d love to own any of them. And so glad to hear everything is going well with that little cutie of yours!

  5. Hi Erin, That little Henry is a sweetheart! What a special Christmas it will be for your family! Thanks for sharing the featured artist — I LOVE Cy Twombly’s work and can definitely see the influence. Merry Christmas!
