Earlier this spring we decided that our bright coral walls in the office were a bit much for us day in and day out. I get tired of things incredibly fast in my environments, and felt that it was time to go lighter and more neutral since we spend all day looking at color and pattern. So we painted the walls Farrow & Ball’s Pointing (using their primer first since the pink was quite hard to cover) and then partnered with Pottery Barn to style up the space. And here it is, as featured on Pottery Barn’s blog (hop over there for some home office styling tips from me).
We’re not quite done yet (we have some old wingbacks being re-upholstered and a few more things to do but here’s a little peek).
This silver tray provides ample space to organize samples for a project and move from desk to desk.
Here are the items we used in the space- all of which would work great in a home office too!
For a similr rug try searching for “Heriz Rug”on eBay and Etsy- like this one!

Do the nursery and let that satisfy your décor urges. I think that guest room is perfection as it is. Would not change one thing!!!

Looks beautiful. Lusting over the rug.

oh! i spy a fancy card from Posh + Prep! “don’t quit your daydream” is my mantra right now.
great space :)
Erin, Could you tell us where your desk is from? Read your book in one sitting over the weekend. Loved it!
I love both looks! I think the pink is my favorite, but then I’m not looking at it all day long….ps – i had the very same quote on the bulletin board in my office when i had my shop….good clothes open all doors…AND thank you for the adorable preggers pic of you and A….
Looks great. In love with that chair and thinking I need one for my home office. Would you also mind sharing the source for your shades? Thanks!

So, I actually copied your coral (All A Blaze) for my craft room that we just added on in a renovation. It’s definitely BRIGHT, but since it’s not a room I’m in all that often, it’s fine. I could see why you were ready for a change when it’s a space you are in every day.
I love what you’ve done here – the white with tan leather and natural accents is really working for me. Great job, as always!
Great makeover! Love the PB office accessories. Thanks for including our “Don’t Quit Your Day Dream” print, too :)
I see an old issue of Cottage Living in your office. I sure miss that magazine!
Oh yes, I hoard them.
Such a beautiful and inspiring office space!
Love this so much – where are the desk and bookcase from?
IKEA!
This is just stunning. Man, I wish Pottery Barn was in my budget right now!
I painted my office coral 2 years ago and it lasted 6 months. Bright white baby!
I loved the coral but agree that you need to change things up sometimes! You’ll be so pleased once the baby arrives and all you want is a little peace. It feels very classic and just a little beachy. Loving the blue and white. Beautiful space!
Very nice! I love the classic neutral look. I recently painted my dining room a bright coral color and lived with it for one week before deciding to repaint it. It was pretty but sooo bright. Anyway, I’m kind of surprised that Eames-inspired office chair is PB. Pretty hip for them, I like!
Woooo baby that rug is beautiful.
The coral, while pretty, was a lot of look. Most designers go more neutral to rest their eyes just because they look at color samples all day long. This Is the kind of background that lets you go a little crazy on the details (for that constant change you crave) but without having to change everything else.
Love it. It’s what I’d do if I were as good at decorating as you.
I loved your coral walls but totally follow you on getting bored fast. I just painted my office Sherwin Williams Springtime and I’m wondering how long it’ll last. ;o) Your new office is very chic!
Erin, can you let us know where the large round silver tray is from?
Thanks!
Now linked above! Sorry!
looks very serene – love the tan leather chair. FYI I can’t seem to get the links to work..? Looking forward to seeing more. Keep up the great work!!
Strange, they are working for me!?
