New Budget Friendly Decor Finds

There is SUCH a wealth of affordable home decor out there these days. It never ceases to amaze me- a trip to Target can result in the perfect basket for a tree in my living room and a jaunt through Ikea can bring about the most fabulous light fixture! No matter what my clients’ budgets are, I always mix in some affordable finds, because sometimes it makes NO sense to pay more even if you can! Especially with finds like these! Below are some new finds from four of my favorite budget friendly sources!

      1. We have the barstools (in Dove Gray) and they not only look great but are surprisingly sturdy. Have only had them a couple of months so we’ll see how they hold up but, for the price (and the fact that I like to change things up alot), they were definitely a worthwhile investment. Also have the tufted bench in my closet (in beige). Also, a good buy that looks great.

  1. Any suggestions on a table that would go well with the Target Kinfine Morris dining chairs? It’s too bad they don’t sell a table to match!

  2. I have been eyeing those lacquer boxes from OKL for a while now for my office! I need to pull the trigger and quit playing! Love all your picks :)

  3. I love that black and white painting from OKL. I’m headed to Ikea today to pick up something for my son’s room. I might have to take a look around for the rest of the house. I didn’t realize they had new things in.

  4. Ikea and Target are absolutely killing it! I freaking love that chair in the IKEA spread – it’s so chic.

  5. Apologies if you’ve done this already and I just don’t remember, but have you ever done “Ask Erin” posts? I’m wondering because I have a weird little corner in my entry way and I’ve been looking for an equally as little console table to go there for YEARS and I haven’t found anything the right height or size. Help is needed.

  6. I had a World Market down the street when I lived in California. I miss it! I used to find really great accents in there, plus the enormous “Good Morning” mug I’ve been drinking tea out of for the past 9 YEARS.

  7. I love it that you do this! I couldn’t agree more! I have custom made furniture in my home in addition to Target and IKEA finds! And, last weekend I took a friend to Target and we picked out those turquoise stools for her media room just for a pop of color and extra seating. They were PERFECT!!

  8. One more online resource I love that has affordable decor is Lamps Plus.com. They often have less expensive versions of designer lighting in addition to things like mirrors, stools, etc. And, they usually offer free shipping.

  9. Also loved the look of the Target dining chairs, but read the reviews and they don’t sound so great.

  10. Wow, these are all great picks! I especially love the World Market finds. I never include them in my online shopping rotation for some reason, but I need to start !

  11. A totally non-design comment I had to share… every time I see the new Acura commercial with the ‘singing woman and conference meeting’, it reminds me of you and I’ve never met you! Sorry if that sounds creepy. :)

  12. I LOVE your budget designer finds Erin! Such a great post! I wish they had the Stockholm media unit when I bought mine at Ikea. I love that one!! And those Kinfine Morris chairs, what a deal! Your posts have been killing it!

  13. Do you have any favourites for affordable case goods? I design custom kitchens for a high end cabinetry and millwork company, but when it comes to my own spaces it’s the typical champagne taste and beer budget situation. I’m finding that I’m destined to be dissapointed with the construction of desks, dressers, and nightstands, even when places like West Elm totally nail the style factor.

  14. Vintage Flea Markets are the BEST source for vintage and antique one of a kind REAL DEAL style. Who needs Target or Home goods? The good are made overseas (not helping US jobs) and the quality is not heirloom, pass it down to your children furniture. Copies of real antiques often do not last. Interior designers have always hunted Flea markets for real antiques not copies made in overseas factories. Several of the pieces in your blog can be found today for a bargain at our Boston Vintage Market, The SoWa Vintage Market (open all year). You blogged about us when we first opened in 2010 (thank you for spreading that word!). We hope you will consider sharing unconventional resources such as ours for finding one of a kind or beautiful items for your homes/work spaces.

  15. Loved this post!!! I love you blog and style but most of the time I read it just for inspiration … this was so much fun- to love something that I can actually afford! PLEASE keep this types of post coming!

  16. You really are “one smart cookie!!” Honestly, THAT is the most sensible way to SHOP…mix it up…this isn’t drudgery…this is FUN!! franki
