That’s A Wrap!

Last night we ended this grueling main leg of our tour in San Francisco at Pottery Barn on Chestnut Street.  Competing with the Giants playoff game was tough, but we still had a great turnout and it was a wonderful way to celebrate the end of what has been the most mind-blowing, humbling and inspiring experience for me. So first and foremost, thank you to everyone who came out- those who drove hours, waited in line and spent their hard earned money on books. THANK YOU.

Also it has to be said that single men MISSED OUT on a goldmine of gorgeous, smart, stylish women at all these signings I’ve had! Andrew noticed it at our first party in Boston and it held true through the tour! A great example from last night below :)

We were a bit frazzled and forgot to take an “official” outfit shot, but this one with one of my besties from Miss Porter’s (who flew up from LA for the signing) will have to do!  To “wrap” the tour, I had to go with my tried and true DVF wrap dress– this one a new sparkly sweater knit version that is also going to be perfect for holiday time! So comfy, flattering and fun (if I do say so myself). And of course, the now famous “tour shoes” which Andrew cut out of this picture (sacrilegious!)

Dress: DVF (25% off right now!) // Shoes: Valentino (no longer available but similar here) // Bracelet: Banana Republic // Earrings:  Cusp

P.S. for those asking about hair products for this look- I use  a combo of L’oreal Oleo Therapy on ends and  Drybar Mai Tai Salt Spray all over,  let it air dray all day, then wrap sections around my fave curling iron (careful, it’s so hot- I’ve literally branded Andrew across the chest with it during an surprise bathroom burst in), then I use some Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray (expensive but SO SO awesome) to muss it up a little and finish with a little Elnett for hold. :)

With some other adorable readers!  You enthusiasm has slayed me, people. Slayed me.

And my fellow OG blogger Erin of Apartment34 even made her way down to say hi and celebrate.  I love the old school design blogging community that was/is so supportive of each other!

So proud of this little book. :) We have three more signing opportunities coming up- in Chicago October 23rd at the fabulous Jayson Home from 5-7 (no RSVP needed) and October 24th at the new Two Penny Blue studio I helped design from 10-12 a.m. (RSVP here) and a final “victory lap” party at my favorite Boston home store Hudson on October 30th from 6-8 RSVP to

Now, Andrew and I are off to a luxurious night at the Ritz Half Moon Bay to reward ourselves for a successful tour. I cannot WAIT- a massage, some time by the fire pit and NOTHING to do, no planes to catch, no reason to get gussied up. AHHHHHHH. :)

Regular design-centric posts will return next week and I’ll get working on finishing up my addition so I can show you the results! :)  Thanks for coming along with me on this journey!

  1. Ahhh, the Riz HMB is one of my favorite places on EARTH! The hubs and I have been there twice and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves both times. Definitely get outside during the bagpipe performance at sunset if you can – it’s amazing! Enjoy and congrats :)

  2. So fun to finally meet you and Andrew in person last night! Thanks for a great event! Please let me know next time you’re in wine country…would love to catch up with you!

  3. Erin congratulations on such a wonderful book tour. You are in my neck of the woods now. I was unable to come last night but have followed closely. I was in Half Moon Bay on Monday celebrating my birthday, enjoy the view of the Pacific ocean!! I am reading your book and enjoying it sooooo much, laughed out loud reading the part about the photo shoot and the kitchen remodel, only laughed because of the humor you bring to your pages. Wonderfully writing, hard to put the book down.
    Enjoy California!

  4. Congrats!! A well deserved celebration this weekend! The book is seriously amazing! Wish you were coming to Seattle!!!!

  5. Have a wonderful mini break. It’s been great fun getting fashion friday EVERY DAY! I’m looking forward to design posts again to get me inspired. And, of course, the remodel posts sometime in November.
I’m sure your puppies will be excited to have you both home again, no matter how much they got spoiled by Grandma…

  6. Congratulations on a great first leg of your tour! I look forward to meeting you at Hudson. Is it OK if I bring the book with me if I’ve already purchased it?

  7. Congrats on your successful tour! I’ve been waiting forever for your book and now I’m going to be out of the country when you come to Chicago. I hope you can leave some signed copies so I can snag one up at Jayson Home. Enjoy your break. You deserve it!

  8. I have loved following along on this exciting journey!! Congratulations again on all of this amazingess!

  9. Thank you soooooo much for your tour across the U.S. it was a pleasure to meet you and Andrew in Washington, DC! Like meeting a celebrity!

  10. Congrats on a successful book tour! I thought I saw you at the Ritz today! I didn’t want to bother you because you looked so relaxed having drinks and I was busy chasing my daughter around. Hope you have a relaxing weekend in HMB. The weather is perfect there right now!

  11. Congratulations Erin! I am so thrilled for you. I’ve been reading your blog since its inception and it is the only one that has continuously held my attention. I cannot wait to read your book, and I appreciate all the hard work you’ve put into both the book and your fabulous blog! Enjoy your time at the Ritz!

  12. Congratulations on your book and tour, bought it myself since you won’t be coming anywhere near Cincinnati and have devoured it. Love to follow your blog but its even nicer to sit down with a book.

  13. So glad your tour went wonderfully. Can I please put a pitch in for Madison, Wisconsin, on your next book tour (because we all know you’ll end up a successful author again — maybe a home book … and one on fashion? Oooh). Besides being a lovely small city with plenty of love for fall and preppiness (well the Midwest version anyway?), we have the only brick-and-mortar Shop Bop store! Congratulations!
