Through the Lens.

I love finding new, fabulous sources for art- specifically modern photography that doesn’t cost 9 zillion dollars per print.  Meet Uplo, the brainchild of Patrick Cline you you all remember as the co-founder of Lonny Magazine alongside Michelle Adams.  An amazing photographer in his own right, Patrick created a way for both people like him AND those of us who are amateur shutterbugs to print, sell and share work easily.  Some images can be printed as large as 40″ x 60″ or even on plexi- which is my current favorite way to display photography (frameless, modern and GORGEOUS).  You can search away for a print for your own home or upload you shots, name your price and get commission on each sale! It’s a phenomenal source. It makes me want to start taking pictures again.

Nicole Cohen, the blogger behind Sketch 42 and a fabulous painter and photographer has a lot of work on there. I am LOVING her Lego Slim Aarons series to use in a kid’s room!!! Isn’t it genius???

I also kinda of need to have this print by her. I just love the mood. Love the flamingos. Just LOVE.

An amazing composition of brown and white horses (will I ever tire of horse photography??? Nope.)

Another cool, moody shot for a glamorous space.

Nicole Gibbons is also a design blogger and her pool series can be printed huge and would be awesome in a modern beach house!

Patrick Cline’s own gallery houses many a fabulous shot- this sweet pink dress hanging off a grimy fire escape? Perfect.

GAH. This shot of Paris took my breath away. I want it BIG BIG BIG in my house. Maybe in my new master bedroom (once it’s built).

More horsies.

Asha Fuller– love these two beach shots. The first one is very reminiscent of some much, much pricier beach photography.  The second, so serene and naturally monochromatic.

Amy Benton– can’t you see this in a guy’s space or bachelor pad??

Dan Rubin– I think the mood of this shoot is pure magic and emotion.

Jonas Nillson Lee– So perfect for a modern rustic home. Printed large on plexi.

  1. A friend of mine has a flamingo print hanging on the wall in her bathroom. It looks amazing. The above print would work well, too.

  2. There is an incredible abstract artist out of NJ, Anthony Boone, who I met more than 10 years ago. I’ve been following him since then, and have purchased several of his pieces. He even showcased at Art Basel in Miami last year. You should definitely check him out – . Or you can follow him on instagram anthonyeboone. His newest work is: Following my dream 150… creating original art on a smaller afordable scale.

  3. Beautiful images. Thank you for opening my eye to art photography. I remember you were asking for book recommendations a while back, and I wanted to suggest Olive Kitteridge by Elizabeth Stout. I thought the writing was excellent and found it to be an interesting read that was very thought provoking.

  4. Really cool pictures! Thanks for the links. I’m going to be putting the Ferrari one up in my “bachelor pad” in the next few weeks here”. Love the brown accents.

  5. Erin – great resource, is there a way to search by size? I can’t seem to find anything on the site. I have a HUGE wall to fill in a contemporary apartment in Athens, the combo of large + shippable to the EU has been killing me.
