Quiet Time.

I had a very trying weekend and thus so was not able to leave for my planned vacation.  So while I am here, I need the day to regroup.  In the meantime, here are some calming spaces and inspiring quotes I am sure we all can benefit from.

And because laughter is the best medicine (and this is probably very true about me…)

Erin – hope you are able to get away soon. Sometimes “quiet time” is the best gift we can give to ourselves. Thank you for the helpful reminders about staying positive and not overthinking/worrying as well the calming spaces. I would like to be sitting in one of those spaces. Take care…

I can’t believe you had to cancel your vacation! I’m a strong believer that vacations are necessities, masquerading as luxuries.

  19. Tara says:

It is generous of you to put a post together to inspire us all after a difficult weekend yourself. The Roald Dahl quote made my day. Keep well, stay strong,

  20. The heartache is evident…go find those puppies of yours and nuzzle into them. Dogicillin works for most woes.

As another reader put it, this makes me sad. I love to follow your life on the blog, instagram and find such inspiration in your every day posts. I am thinking of you and know you have the strength to overcome this as well.
    Be well.

  23. Jen in Mpls says:

  31. Karissa says:

I feel like there have been some especially vocal readers criticizing your posts recently, and I know I speak for the majority of your readers who adore you and who love your blog when I say we feel SUPER defensive when someone comes in here and gets negative toward you. I know feedback helps us all grow – but too much can be downright debilitating sometimes, especially for a perfectionist personality who consistently sets a ridiculously high personal bar and miraculously manages to clear that bar over and over, like you do. I’m sure there are many things happening leading to whatever setback you are experiencing at the moment, but please just know that the majority of your readers love you, respect you, and stand in awe of you each and every day. We don’t ask you to be infallible (like some rude naysayers of late!); we ask you to go on being you – even when that means being flawed or incongruous or holding an unpopular opinion. We haven’t been die-hard readers because we think you do no wrong – we’re die-hard readers because you make us laugh, inspire us, and make life a little happier and lovelier! We hope you never forget this and swiftly put out of your mind anything that goes against this. :)

  32. Heather says:

In my fantasy world, where we are best buds, I’d run over with a latte, Skinnypop and a chick flick and try to cheer you up. Unless what is going on is crazy serious, in which case, I’m sorry and I hope it gets better soon. We are all hoping you get your break soon, especially so we can see what you wear on vaca.

  33. April says:

I read your blog daily (my fave!) and I almost never comment, but I wanted to wish you well. Last fall I had to cancel a trip when I miscarried just before we left (tmi? Maybe but I’m just being real). It is so hard to suffer and to miss a trip you have been looking forward to on top of it. I feel ya, sister. Drink some wine, and cuddle with your pups and hubby. The darkness always gives way to the light -this I know from experience. Sending you comfort and serenity vibes.

  34. Elizabeth says:

I’d like to echo Karissa (so eloquent) and let you know that we’re fully behind you. You are extraordinary and inspire so many of us in different ways. Take whatever time and space you need. We’ll be waiting here regardless.

Also Mercury is apparently in retrograde again, so feel free to blame bad juju on that.

  35. Janice Ratliff says:

If you are stuck at home for the week you should pretend you are on vacation and do things you don’t usually make time to do….. any time I have a last minute snag in travel plans, I try to make something positive out of my disappointment. Hope you had trip insurance. And hope whatever caused the cancelation turns out to be a wonderful opportunity.

  36. Erin says:

So sorry to hear you’re having a tough time and I hope you are able to reschedule your vacation!

  37. Devon says:

Hang in there Erin! Thanks for sharing the quotes…I need to hang them on every mirror in my apartment!

I hope you’re better very soon! Check out Oprah’s February magazine. In it is an article on a Harvard lawyer by day and an Energy Healer at night. It was fascinating to read about one woman’s telephone energy assessment and it made me want to contact her. I wish you all the best!!

Keep doing what you are doing at YOUR pace. Your post was very timely for me and my teenage daughter. Thank you, Erin.
