Inspired By: Canadian House & Home

No matter what the internet bring I still love me a new glossy magazine!  This month I LOVED LOVED Canadian House & Home! I found so much inspiration in the pages! Here are some of my favorite spreads:

I adore this kitchen renovation- it proves that small spaces can have BIG style and impact! I mean just look at that floor and those metal famed glass doors!!!!

This seating idea (and the faux brick) is kind of genius for a narrow space without much architectural interest.

HH2

Perfect grey grout on the subway tile and the floorplan showing just how small this galley kitchen is!

HH4 HH5

And this patio right outside of the kitchen doubles the space in the warmer months!

HH3

Loved the bold color and pattern of this living room.

HH12

As well as this KILLER striped banquette paired with black chairs and modern art and lighting! ADORE!

HH13

Another awesome kitchen with brass hardware!

HH14

This home was more traditional but equally stunning. The neutral palette is so calming and clean and that tan/white marble floor is to die for.

HH6

I can’t tell you how much I adore this bench!!!

HH7

This makes me want to paint my little window in my kitchen black!

HH8

This simple black four-poster bed is so great with the stripe wool blanket- country modern at it’s finest.

HH9

Oh, hello awesome bathroom- the herringbone floor, the wall tile detail, the tub….. I’ve been paying close attention to bathroom details as I plan my own master addition.  I have planned a chevron marble floor, but laying tiles herringbone is about 1/3 of the cost because it’s less labor (cutting) for the tile installer (just an FYI!)

HH10

The mix of chrome and natural accents is such a great mix!

HH11

This library with high-gloss navy moulding and walls is pretty much everything. Especially love it paired with that rug (reminds me of Andrew’s office in my house in color palette).

  4. Gorgeous, thanks for sharing! Need to go pick this up at the newsstand ASAP, although in the past it’s been tough for me to find it in LA. Perhaps a subscription is in order!

  5. Now I want to go out and buy this issue. What amazing before and afters! That first kitchen is stunning. Those metal framed doors/windows are what I dream of having one day!

  6. Agree! I picked up this issue while in toronto on a business trip a few weeks ago. Love this magazine always but this issue was particularly great. And the timing is perfect — we’re about to start a down to the studs remodel of our house!

  7. I love everything about that tiny galley kitchen. The little seating area and stools are perfect and the subway tile as well…I would rather have that than a big kitchen! I just love small stylish spaces.

  8. Shout out to CANADA!

I recently heard the Canadian House and Home Editor-in-Chief, Suzanne Dimma speak at the Toronto Interior Design Show about this years top trends. Great to see this work showcased on your blog, Erin.

  10. Hi Erin – I have been a longtime fan and reader of your blog and was so surprised and delighted when this showed up on your page! I am the designer of the very small kitchen and we were so pleased with the way it turned out…thanks so much for the share! It means a lot…and yes – Canadian House & Home is a gem of a shelter mag…
    Take Care,

  11. LOVED this last issue! We posted about it too because it was like eye candy on every page. I love seeing good, approachable design and feel like I get that every time I read H&H. Well worth the money subscribing to this mag…way prouder to call this Canadian than the Biebs.

  12. My brother suggested I would possibly like this web site.
He was once entirely right. This post truly made
my day. You cann’t consider simply how much time I had spent for this information!
