Fashion Friday: Fall Staple-Leopard Coat

Yes, I know. Me and leopard. Yada yada yada. But I have proof that this print is so IN (it always is, but..) in the form of countless magazine features in the past month saying it’s the print for fall ( & forever, duh). Not to mention my most fashionable client and catwalk-worthy photo stylist friend were chatting on set last week about NEEDING a leopard coat for fall. Yes’ ma’am. It’s not just me!

I have  leopard flats, heels, booties, blouses, pants even (and stairs, of course)– but I do not own a fun faux-fur leopard coat. It’s a travesty, really. So I am on the HUNT, y’all.

I found this one and styled it for day and night. This would be my staple day look every day if I could.  These Citizen skinnies have the perfect ankle width- not skin tight/ cut off your circulation but not loose either.  And those Coach flats add a touch of ladylike preppiness (and I must have them in my closet for fall). Paired with a big gold chain necklace, the FAB Tippi sweater (I have in three colors) and some classic studs you are all SET for daytime. (P.S. you can monogram the clutch too…)

Another fall/winter staple will be a black jumpsuit, and this Tory Burch one looks pretty fierce (also LOVE this one and this one).  Paired with the MOST insane shoes I have seen this season (seriously, GAH) and a Diana Vreeland approved statement horn pendant you’re good to go to just about any event.

  1. Also a leopard fan, but since I’m in my 50’s I have to make sure I don’t look to dated when I wear an animal print. Even though I would LOVE to do the coat, it makes me nervous! LOL I’ll stick with my blouses, scarves and flats. Oh, and my newly purchase leopard area rug for my foyer!!

BTW, great idea with the scroll bar at the bottom. Makes it so easy to see everything when you get to the end of the page! Thanks!

  2. Thanks Erin! I recently nabbed the Tory Burch jumpsuit and I’ve been needing some style inspiration for wearing it!! Great post, as always!

  3. I have an all leopard coat I found at a thrift store and had it shortened into a swing coat. I love it even though I feel like I get odd stares when I wear it. Thanks for the post! Glad to know I’m in good company!

  4. I actually just done a post on this this week about the difference between cheetah and leopard spots. The first coat is actually cheetah spots. I love it even more than leopard. The coat with the leopard spots but sporadic additional dots within the spots is a jacquar I believe. None the less, they are all fabulous.

  5. I think I have every one of your inspiration posts pinned on pinterest. :) Have a leopard jacket but clearly need to make the jump to a longer [car?] coat.
Those Choos are insane. Insanely awesome! What a fabulous Friday post! Thanks!

  6. Well, well, well! How apropos.
I just busted out the two that I own yesterday, and said eneeny, meany, mine-y, moe for which one to wear yesterday evening. Great kitties’ minds think alike. Have fun getting your leapord on, right meow.

  7. Love this post as I’m a fellow feline fan. I recently bought leopard calf hair flats. I’d been craving them for a year (and couldn’t find) but internet research convinced me they’re not for my rainy climate … can’t wear in wet weather, can’t drive in them and they’re extremely fragile. Still hunting but I’m hoping to find suede or leather as they’ll hold up. Maybe a leopard print raincoat? Got any suggestions?

  8. Erin even though I am almost twice your age. I LOVE your style and your fashion post. I just purchased the leopard coat from ASOS, Happy Birthday to me!! You keep me current in my wardrobe. I just did a post today on Fall sweaters. On the hunt for a camel sweater with leather elbow patches. Have you seen one at a reasonable price?

  10. I’m loving the day outfit. The jacket is so luxurious but the distressed jeans bring it back down to earth. And omg, Kate Moss amazes me in how effortlessly she pulls off that jacket. Def a great pic for inspiration. :)
