Nantucket Escape

I am just DYING to spend a couple days by the ocean this summer.  It’s going to be an incredibly busy time for us, but a few days rest by the water is a great way to recharge.  And ever since seeing the images of the newly opened 76 Main on the island, designed by the awesome Rachel Reider of Boston, I want to go even more! She used so many of my favorite wallpapers, fabrics and accents all in one place!  I would LOVE to someday design a small inn like this_ I can’t even imagine how much fun creatively it would be!

  1. The blue striped nailhead headboard!! DYING!! And the black buffalo check chairs!! Brilliant!

  2. We have a lot of bed & breakfasts around here, but none that amazing! Even a short weekend trip away to a place like this would be such a great way to unwind in the middle of the summer chaos!

  3. My in-laws are staying there next month and I’ve been looking longingly at it ever since I heard! Pure perfection!

  4. I’ve never commented before and am relatively new to the blog world. This entry may even seem very random! I felt like I needed to reach out and let you know how much joy you bring to your readers. I’m a wife and mom of 2 young boys in Atlanta. Life has thrown us some curve balls as of late with job downsizing and a very recent cancer diagnosis for my husband. Your blog has been such a silver lining in a very chaotic world. You’re so talented, bright, witty and a real inspiration! Never underestimate what you’re doing because it means so much to people like me! Can’t thank you enough. Continued success with your design career, upcoming book, and sweet hubby and puppies. xo vicki

  5. I have never been to Nantucket (as I am from Ontario) but always wanted to go. I think when I do a B&B is in order. This one is so charming and whimsical. Thanks for sharing! xo

  6. What a timely post! I was married on Nantucket in 2011 and we are currently counting down the days to our annual summer vacation there. Hurry up, Labor Day!!! In my opinion, the patios at 76 Main are a little too modern for Nantucket, but the interior looks fab – and I wouldn’t complain about spending a few nights there! Nantucket has some of THE best interior design in the world. The perfect mix of fresh and traditional.

  7. Had the pleasure of staying at The Attwater, their sister property in Newport, RI in March and it was fantastic! The decor did not disappoint either. Can’t wait to check out 76 Main for a little eye candy and relaxation on our next escape.

  8. Erin it makes me smile! I have the Christopher Farr fabric on pillows in my family room and it is one of my favorites. She uses all the color combinations that I love for my own home! I just redid my family room with blue and white and black white with touches of the bright kelly green like in the Christopher Farr fabric. Thanks for sharing amazing design!
