A Spring Tablescape

I’ve had this table scape in my head since posting it with my little soapbox piece about Gwyneth. Like her or hate her, this table setting is gorgeous! I love the casual but luxurious feel and I am straight up obsessed with those plates! I also have a major love for lilacs and have got to find somewhere to plant a lilac bush in my yard so I can cut them myself for my home. I can’t find them anywhere to buy cut bouquets of them (ok, I only checked Whole Foods…)

Here’s how to get the look yourself- and did I mention I seriously need these Juliska Country Estate plates. At least a set of dinner plates or salad plates to pair with my other china.  I loved the blue color paired with the violet but I added horn, gold and jute accents and may like it even more….

tabletop

wood bottle stoppers // lanterns // salad servers // bowls // carafe // plate // napkin ring

placemat // gold flatware // napkins // s&p shakers // water glass // wine glass

I picture this not only in my dining room on my awesome table, but also in a room like this- a mix of natural, casual and GLAM!

  1. I’m sure your mother will tell you this but, don’t plant lilacs under pine trees. (given that you live in New England, and all)
    I made that mistake once.

  2. The Juliska Country Estates plates in black on sale at their Vineyard Haven store in the upstairs seconds area right now….you can’t really tell they are seconds!

  3. Hey Erin – I’m sure Mahoney’s Garden Center in Lexington has lilac bushes. They have everything!

  4. Erin – Take a drive out to Russell’s garden center in Wayland. They are great, have everything and will deliver. I am sure they have lilacs there!

  5. LOL!!! You need to branch out of Whole Foods for your gardening needs. I’m sure you also realize that those flowers are a mix of Lilacs and Hydrangeas! IMHO you can never have enough Hydrangeas! Screw you Madonna!! After seeing pictures of your mother’s garden, I’m sure she’s a wealth of info for all your landscaping needs. Have fun.

  6. Erin, Doug has tons of lilacs, different varieties too! I have some going in next week. I’m telling you, call him, you won’t regret it.

  7. What chairs do you plan to use in your dining room? Looking forward to seeing this space come together. Thanks for sharing.

  8. Love this, especially those Jurliska plates! Also – I love a table setting with only a runner and no place mats.

  9. Plant Bloomerang Syringa lilac bushes – it supposedly blooms all summer instead of just in the spring and is more compact than a Lilac tree, and I think less finnicky.

  10. hi erin! just wanted to let you know that here in Stamford we have the Juliska Flagship as well as their outlet called Barry & Fred – recently they had a sick deal on those plates – like 50% off or something….you may want to give them a call.

  11. ps- i meant Stamford, CT….also, i NEED that chandelier….where/when will it be available?
