Gift Guides 2012: For Him

I’m starting out my week of gift guides with some picks for him- all man approved for those fellas in your life! Happy shopping!

1.  My very stylish brother Mike swears by this Jack Spade leather dopp kit. A classic staple for any guy on the go.

2. He may like a nice Cabernet, but get his street cred back with this paper bag styled cooler (the exterior masks a cooler lining that keeps wine perfectly chilled on the go).

3.  Whether a blonde or a brunette guy, the way to his heart is still through his stomach.  Give him these blondies and brownies from Hot Blondies and win points no matter your hair color.

4. It may be cliche, but men DO like tools.  When the ad for this bolt on power thingy comes on Andrew is RIVETED. Commence chest beating.

5. I love this Eddie Bauer fleece jacket because of it’s throwback, Barbour jacket styling!

6. A classic leather strap watch is always welcome. I got many a guy’s approval on this choice from J.Crew.

7.  A gift to give him now- a whiskey advent calendar with a different shot of the hard stuff for each day leading up to Xmas.  Also a Gin option should he prefer the juniper stuff.

8. Guys also like products- these Aesop ones all packed together look manly but treat his skin gently.

9. Andrew’s favorite book of all time– we cannot go to a party/ out to dinner/ step in an elevator without him telling any dudes within earshot that they MUST READ IT.

10. Every Bond movie ever made all in one 50th anniversary package. Enough said.

11. A wall mounted deer bottle opener for his man cave. Hey, I dig antlers.

12. I love me a man wearing a simple suit but hiding some stylin’ socks under it all.

  1. I have to tell you that a book you recommended one year is my father’s favorite book of ALL TIME, i.e., I’m the coolest daughter ever for giving it to him without his even knowing it existed (I think the author wrote Seabiscuit or something?) So. Super pumped to give him this one–thanks to you and Andrew for the rec!

  2. I think it was your gift guide for men last year which lead me to Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand. I read it ages ago, but I’m still completely riveted by it! I’ll put Boyd on my wish list even though it sounds really, really manly! I can hang.

  3. Totally reading Boyd. (Unbroken is one of my all-time favs too). I’m gifting it to myself on my iPad as I type ;) Great gift guide – thanks!

  4. I’ve been on the lookout for the perfect dopp kit for a little while now. I still have memories of a classic one on the counter of my childhood bathroom every time my sweet grandfather visited. I’ll have to add this one my growing list of possibilities. I imagine Seth using whichever one I get for a very long time, so I don’t take the search too lightly!

  5. Erin, I don’t comment often but I LOVE your blog and enjoy it every day. Your list for the men today is spectacular. So appropriate and very helpful. Men are so hard to buy for and I really appreciate the help! Also, you look absolutely darling in your gold point shoes !!!

  6. I really like that dopp kit, there was another dopp kit also very stylish that I was looking at on Awesome site too by the way if you’re looking for gift ideas for men. Sooo many cool and really unique things :) I always buy for my brothers and boyfriend off of there.
