Clean & Serene

In today’s sea of bright, neon colors I am currently really craving the calm palette of white and black (with a touch of grey or camel). As I plan for a new space (announcement coming soon, I promise) all I can think about it making it calm, clean and serene. Some of my favorite current items in that color way:

Some more inspiration via Pinterest (where else?)

  1. Wonderful items from you, man. I’ve be mindful your stuff prior to and you’re just too excellent. I really like what you have obtained here, certainly like what you’re saying and the way in which in which you are saying it. You’re making it enjoyable and you continue to take care of to keep it wise. I can not wait to learn far more from you. That is actually a tremendous site.

I’m absolutely loving this vibe! Simple, uncomplicated, unpretentious. Gorgeous without trying to be :)

  3. I always love color when I see it in someone else’s home and like a little bit in mine as well thrown in here and there…I’m like you though and I feel like I crave the calmness of a neutral pallet…especially after working in an antique shop like mine where there are so many different aspects of design going on! Thanks for sharing this!

    Lovely photos!

  5. I’ve definitely been feeling the calm and neutral thing too! I love peeking into other people’s colorful spaces, but when it comes down to my own space, I’m just loving something much more relaxed! Also, absolutely love that second to last photo — I saw it on Cote de Texas a few months ago, I think it’s in Houston somewhere! GORGEOUS!

  6. Some of my favorites, Erin!
    Happy Tuesday.

Love it! I only enjoy color in homes that are NOT my own. I recently purchased hot pink pillows thinking I would love the pop of color. But alas, it’s not for me. Love the serene look of the interiors and the clothing. I look forward to your blog everyday. Thanks Erin!

PS – I was ready to order that tray and then saw the Barney’s pricetag. Hmm…maybe someday.

Is that an Emerson Fry Dress (with the globe lights)?? Love it. I’m using a similar color palette for a current client.

I’m definitely with you on retreating into some more neutral and serene palettes after the crazy color explosion of this spring. I like bright colors but it’s kinda too much of a good thing. I love the mix of greys and tans and whites in these photos! So calming and inspiring.

I definitely agree with you, black and white with touches of grey looks so elegant. I am a huge color lover but you can’t beat how beautiful and simple this palette looks.

This is how we’re planning our new place – gray, white, camel, and a smidgen of black. I think we will get some navy in there, too, somewhere…

I saw the kitchen with the grey spindle legged table on Pinterest this week-LOVE it. I’m trying to figure out what I can cover in whitewashed driftwood in my kitchen to add that sort of awesome texture too.
