Non-Babyish Nursery

More and more nursery designs are popping up that are not only sweet and interesting to children, but also aesthetically pleasing for parents! I am LOVING this one designed by Emily McCarthy of Twist Paper.  Between the stripe walls, the custom bedding and the hide rug I think this space is wonderful! See more details on her blog here.

She custom designed this pattern using interlocking R’s (her baby is named Rhett)…. how awesome!

Cute sentimental details like framed bowties of her husband’s from when he was a child and a gallery wall including a framed bib from her childhood.

Her mother painted these watercolors including instructions on how to tie a bowtie and how to throw a baseball!

  1. Wow. I wish I was this organied (and talented) for my boys’ nurseries! The paintings by her mom are priceless!

  2. This is a very pretty nursery, but not a realistic one, as she will find out as soon as her kid starts walking. Looks more like a hotel room to me.

  3. My favorite part is the framed keepsakes from the parents’ past. So thoughtful and sentimental. But really, overall, it’s a great nursery!

  4. i love the framed bowties & bib and the watercolor instructions – how completely special! thanks for sharing!!

  5. Thank you so much for featuring my son’s nursery! Rhett has arrived and we are loving the nursery even more now! I adore your website and feel so honored you included me! Cheers!
