I saw this photograph by photographer Cig Harvey and just loved the juxtaposition between the ladylike pink dress and the rustic barn and weathervane.
It reminds me of how I love the mix of glamour and rustic looks, much like this great spread in Elle Decor this month:

I don’t usually gravitate towards the rustic, but I would live in this place in a hearbeat! I love, love, love those purple velvet couches and that bathtub. The bunk beds remind me of Hollywood Squares or the opening sequence to The Brady Bunch…but in a good way!
i think this house is pretty much perfection. the juxtaposition of the rustic with the glamor is incredible and so hard to pull off, love every single bit of it.

Excellent point about the velvet and rough beams. i immediately started looking around my apartment to see where I might be able to incorporate that. Maybe I could make a cornice (Is that the word I’m looking for) above the windows and hang velvet drapes from there.

Love those bunk beds! I have been showing that picture to all my friends – are they full size?? They look larger than twin but it could just be the camera angle. They are gorgeous and so fun and the house is incredible.
I was ooohing and ahhing over my Elle Decor in bed last night, and I just love those bunk beds! so cute.

The look alike mirror you found is perfect! and thus post is so inspiring- everything is so cozy and cool at the same time!- I want a big forest lodge with bunkbeds like that for my many children i plan on having one day!:)
