It’s a Mad, Mad World.

I know I was not alone in my giddy anticipation of the return of Mad Men last night.  Easily one of the best written, most flawlessly styled shows on television, it did not disappoint in it’s return to the small screen (i.e. “the slap heard round the world”…Don Draper, I had no idea!)  Although this episode didn’t have the visual punch of some of the other interiors wise, I still am continuously inspired by the 1950′s/60′s decor and found some items that celebrate the glorious return of everyone’s favorite ad agency. And of course, a little fashion too. :)

The 2010 Louis Vuitton collection ads featuring Christy Turlington are so Mad Men, and I absolutely LOVE it.

I thought the decor of the SCDP offices was less stuff. I liked it. Perhaps you could pick out a new conference table for them!

That slap, I know! Wow! The episode did not disappoint.

I guess great minds think alike! I was so excited about last night’s episode as well and was a bit shocked at the slap! I love the slow build on this show and the one liners last night had me in stitches!

  4. I thought the style of the SCDP offices was a bit more sleek and modern than the older Sterling Cooper offices. That could have been partly due to the architecture (seemed like more glass and chrome) and due to the minimalist decor (what was with the lack of the conf. table?). Bert still seems to have LOTS of modern paintings adorning his office, though.

As for the fashion: I LOVED Peggy’s makeover. And I’d read beforehand that Don’s suits were going to “get darker” for this season. Not only did I notice that, but I believe his ties got skinnier as well (reflective of the times) and unless my eyes deceive me, I think they’re making him look OLDER, too.

Love this show! But I really missed Don and Betty’s turquoise, tufted headboard.

LOVE it! You and Mad Men are both so fabulous and hip!

  8. So Louis Vitton decided to get with the Mad Men program. Way to launch it before the season premiere. And that chandelier is like an M.C. Escher painting.

  9. Serious style. And, I seriously want that chair in the first image. It would be perfect in my home office I’m working on.
