Last week Jess, Liana and I were invited to a fantastic event across the street from our studios featuring a yoga class with David from South Boston Yoga, mats by the witty Plank and jaw-dropping views courtesy of a penthouse at FP3 (all co-ordinated by PR peeps 5s). It was such a unique, cool event, especially for yoginis like me! I was super amused with my Plank mat, which features a bathroom tile floor covered in pills- the “Medicated and Meditated” mat, if you will. Others received the wood plank (with half eaten muffin at one end, natch), grass with a slithering cobra and shag rug complete with hand imprints. An injection of humor into the oft serious world of yoga. Stay tuned for an AMAZING giveaway this Friday with Plank (non-yogi’s will love it too)!

After class we were treated to strawberry basil vodka cocktails and snacks inside the sunlit unit. Here are some pics from the event!

The brave fella who joined the gaggle of ladies (smart dude!)

I spotted a luscious pile of pillows from EOS sponsor Fabricadabra!

Have I mentioned how much I love this city?

OH, I wish I could attend an event like this!!!! I love my yoga, but I could definitely update the hip factor aspect. Keep the inspiration coming. And by the way….I’m in one of your favorite places – Paris!!! Except we brought out kids – which gives it a different vibe. We did the lunch at Cafe Marly and we loved it – sat outside – with the pyramid in the back. Had a crazy amazing dinner i’ll blog about soon.
Looks like an amazing event!
Wow, this looks so incredible! I just moved to Boston, and I’m so grateful for your awesome guides and tips! :)
So sorry I missed that event. I want that mat! xx
Erin thanks for the fab post. So, so glad you could make it. I want to be atop a roof deck right now… doing yoga, sipping cocktails afterwards with nibbles…
Pills mats is one of my faves and spot on with the meaning behind the image… Also as one practices more yoga, one could potentially throw away one’s meds… Let me know, if you get any funny looks or responses whenever you roll out your cocktail of Pills in the ‘oft serious’ classroom…
Yes stay tuned for Friday’s giveaways from Plank, I love, love, love these.. you guys are fortunate to have Erin be the bearer of style and gift giveaways…
Cheers Doreen
Erin,
I love this post on the yoga event. I would have loved to have attended that event! Anyway, I didn’t get a chance to meet you but I attended the Bloggers Ball last month and I also really enjoy your blog. (just added it to my blogroll!)

Why oh why did I move to Philly after college, instead of returning to Boston??
Also, speaking of amazing yoga…any word on that David Magone dvd you posted about a few months back? I keep searching for it and still haven’t found it anywhere :(

Awesome! Would have loved to do this…. def checking out the South Boston Yoga site :)
ohmygosh, this is my kind of party!! What a fantastic event!! The rooftop, the patio, the drinks – perfect : )
That looks like a freaking blast! If anyone knows of this kind of thing happening in Houston, let me in on it! :) I didn’t wanna ruin the smiley trend. So :)
What a great experience. I will have visions of this while I am at prenatal yoga (indoors) tomorrow. xo
Such a fun event and a great post. I almost felt like I was there!

I read this post right before going to bed and the giveaway part must have resonated in my head because I totally had a dream that I won and you personally drove down to L.A to deliver my prize from San Francisco. Paloma from The Dolce Vita was with you. To make things even stranger, who spoke with a British accent. Gotta love random dreams.

and i used to think seeing folks exercising in the public gardens was cool. the boston of now is far cooler than the boston of the 80’s! and those mats from plank are enough to sell me on this yoga!
