That’s right….COLETTE. If you’ve been reading this blog long enough you know that I have been lusting after the Crate & Barrel Colette bed for years. I have had dreams about her, gone to the store to stare at/ lie on her and freak out every time she’s featured in a movie (which is ridiculously often). And thanks to the amazing folks at American Express, she is now MINE! Using a big chunk of the points I was awarded I ordered up Crate & Barrel gift cards (so easy- they came the next day) and ran down the the Boylston Street store. Now, as my yoga teachings have reminded me, I am not supposed to be attached to material things. But I have to say, the moment I got to say “I’d like to order the Colette bed”, I was freaking my freak. I joked with my girlfriend that I was going to send out birth announcements about it I was so excited, hence the above. :) And here she is…
Baxter and Oliver clearly love to model for you guys.
We also used some points to get West Elm gift cards for this great shag rug (which is like having a new pet with the amount it sheds), the Pottery Barn window treatments which we installed last night and these GORGEOUS black embroidered Greek key shams from William Sonoma Home. Seriously, if you guys have Am Ex Reward Points, think about using them for home stuff! I never would have before this (always just flights) but now I know how easy it is!
Oh the detail….LOOOOOOOVE. Especially against the black wall!
The window treatments look so serene and truly change to mood of the room. My awesome window treatment lady Paula from PMK Designs was kind enough to donate her time sew on the hardware and help us install them.
I used a small amount of points to order this fabulous new glass and chrome hardware for the bedside tables from Restoration Hardware. I am pondering painting these tables glossy white with deep grey accents on the drawers, but as is they do go nicely with the headboard as well. What do you think? Like I’ve said before, I can decorate other people’s spaces, but not my own!
The last decision is about bedding and the bench fabric (which I’m changing). And then the room will be done! Tune in next week for the finale and a great giveaway courtesy of American Express!
Not part of my Am Ex sponsored makeover are the sheers we installed in our main living space. They are ethereal and subtle yet dramatic in person. Love them!

Love the Colette bed AND the bench. So great you now own it!! Congrats! It looks beautiful.
p.s. I vote painting the nightstands.
She’s beautiful!! You and Andrew must be so proud! :)
Your home is amazing–truly. How you continue to inspire me! I still can’t get over how INCREDIBLE the black wall looks and the beautiful contrast of your new bed against it. I have always loved Colette, too, and hope she will be mine one day also! I think the nightstands would be beautiful painted white with grey accents (I’m a HUGE fan of glossy white), but I do love how they go so well with the headboard. If I were you, I would probably keep them as they are.
congratulations on your newest arrival! she’s a beauty. sounds like your delivery was painless. hope she doesn’t keep you up too much throughout the night. just remember to sleep when she sleeps!
(p.s. – looks like you have a delightful south end pad – envious of your outdoor space. i’ve been begging my husband to move back to the city. miss boston)
Please decorate my bedroom. Love yours, so elegant. Looking forward to see the final product.
Flipping gorgeous bed!!!
I heart the Colette as well! I do think the nightstands should be painted glossy white as it’s more fitting a color for the drawer pulls you chose, which are really neat. The lamps should be taller too. Other than that everything looks great!
Your bedroom is stunning and so is the bed! very nice job! xoox
Beauty! I would leave the nightstands as is…they give the room character with that finish…when everything is painted and matchy..not as good. This looks like a better mix. It looks great.
I love it! I love to use the Colette bed! I’ve used it on a couple projects, most recently in Oregon…I changed the nailheads to French natural and it gave it a whole new look :-) It looks fabulous in your new space!!!
Hahaha, I love that birth announcement! And congrats on the bed. I can’t wait to see the final reveal!
Congrats! You two make beautiful offspring!
I love what you have done with your home! I have a hard time finding a happy medium of what I like and feel is comfortable when it comes to interior design but your pictures instantly make me feel at home. Thank you for the inspiration and congratulations on your not-so-little Colette! She’s a beauty :)
It was great meeting you again at the Plank event at FP3!
Well, the bed is definitely obsession-worthy, I love it! and your living room is looking sooooo GOOD!
Love the new bed! I too COVET a Collette and have totally done the same thing and gone and stared at it and laid on it at Crate and Barrel. In fact, I think the sales people know me as the girl who never buys anything. One day, one day…..
You’re room is so inspiring!
Congrats on your new arrival — she’s a big girl but it sounds like all went well.
I vote for glossy white bedside tables but then, I paint everything.
I also love your living room rug. Where did you get it?
Can you please tell me more about the sewn on hardware for your drapes? What did you sew on and where did you buy? I’ve been thinking this is an option for me, but no one knows what I’m talking about when I ask for ring tape for drapes…am I asking for the wrong thing? Thanks!
Looks beautiful. I’ve have Colette for about 5 years now and still love that bed. My bedroom is gray(s) and white.
I love the colette bed. Its really a classic! You living room is looking great too…
I just got an amazing new bench in my living room. Im obsessed with it! Check it out.
Amazing transformation!
oooh looks mazing, well done!!
Please dont change the bench fabric! When I saw the first picture, I actually noticed the bench first…. (Of course, I love the bed too, but that bench!!!!!)
I’d get rid of the nightstands!! But I love your bed and can’t wait to see it in person tomorrow!!
I am in LOVE with the Colette bed! It looks absolutely fantastic in your space.
P.S. I really adore the bench fabric. It gives the room a punch of color. I wouldn’t change it.
I do the same thing with the Colette! I go in and look at it everytime I walk by a C&B. It’s perfection. I am so so so jealous!!
This is hilarious! I felt the same joy when my Colette was delivered to us a few months back! Enjoy!
The bed is FABULOUS!!!! I am totally loving the wall as well- just gorgeous! I say- keep the bedside tables as is, they look good natural. I also have an unrelated comment- I miss your weekly “what I am wearing” post. My sister said some haters left some comments- ridiculous, what is wrong with people?!! Keep up the awesome work- thanks for the inspiration!
I DIE for that headboard! Lovely! I especially like it on the black wall!!
I would have to agree with everyone else about the bench – I think it offers a stunning punch of color and I wouldn’t change it at all. In fact, I was hoping you would offer up the details as to where you acquired the fabric for it.

congratulations! haha, it all looks great! love your shams on that bed.
Just redeemed my Amex points and should be receiving my CB2 giftcards to order my patio set. I’ve seriously been going back and forth between what award to swap my points for. Thanks for reminding me about their giftcards. Say hello Colette for me.
AWWWWW. I’ve been loving this bed for about a year now. I can’t wait to save my pennies and get one of my own. CONGRATS. Oh it does look soooo fab against the black wall.
Did you notice that the stock fabric color on the Colette Bed is named “Erin”? No joke. Kismet.
love your room! it’s looking fabulous! i would def paint your nightstands glossy white. they’d look amazing & more chic, right now they’re a bit shabby chic, which is cute…but with that amazing bed the white would be stunning. imo of course:)
Ps. Like the new photo
okay, that little birth announcement was the funniest thing EVER! Love the bed & your room- it looks great!
Such a darling little treasure!! She’s the perfect blend of you & Andrew. Congrats on your delivery!!!
She, the bed, is beautiful. Keep the nightstands as they are. Gloss white can be nice but It would be a shame to paint yours. If they were daggy I’d paint them but they are hansome. And I thought the jolt of glorious colour on the bench was the thing that pulled it all together, so it wasn’t too uptight and matchy-matchy.
Absolutely gorgeous! I’m so excited for you! Everything looks great, and I adore that bed. I have the Lewis Linen Headboard from PBarn and love it’s softness against the wall.
Question: I actually just got the Cameron drapes as a budget option instead of the Peyton Linen/Cotton. How do you like them? Do they block light well enough? I’m afraid they won’t be substantial enough. And I love how you installed yours….with the back tabs I imagine?
here’s my 2 cents..
paint the side tables. white. high gloss. and i think the lamps are too small. you need something fabulous here. showstoppers.
xo
I really really love it against your wall color, just perfect!
I love that bed! The nailhead detail really makes it. I bought nailhead window panels recently and those studs really make them pop.
Have a lovely weekend!
xx
i’ve been lusting over this bed fooooorever too! that linen and nailhead trim is too gorgeous/perfect.
p.s. what a hilarious birth announcement :)
p.p.s. the nightstands have incredible bones…i’d go with the white lacquer paint and NO accents. let the lacquer speak for itself :)
Congratulations on the “birth” of your bed!!! May you and your family sleep happy and peacefully!
LOVE the headboard, and the monogrammed pillows. Can you tell me where you got those?! I would love to do something similar…Love your room! So chic, relaxing, and sophisticated!
I agree with the other commenters – leave the bench fabric please! It was the punch that drew me to the room, which is now at the top of my inspiration file.
Congratulations, she is beautiful!
Definitely paint the nightstands high gloss white. You will not regret it. I just purchased a buffet from ebay, painted it high gloss white and put on lucite knobs and pulls and now it is ridiculously beautiful. It makes my heart stop everytime I look at it. Also, perhaps imperial trellis fabric on the bench…
