I haven’t been this inspired by a home and a couple in a long time. We’re talking MAJOR lifestyle (and plain ol’ STYLE) lust here. I am nearly speechless in awe of the pure, unadulterated awesomeness of sculptor/ furniture designer Fitzhugh Karol and jewelry designer Lindsey Caleo’s Brooklyn brownstone. In addition to their individual work they also are part of the family run business The Brooklyn Home Co. which specializes in renovating, you got it, Brooklyn brownstones. Their own project is the crown jewel though. The bright white space combines natural wood, metal, glass and modern and traditional furniture and accessories in such a clean but not boring way that I am going to use this space as PERFECT inspiration for my own new home. I am ENAMORED to say the least. I’m surprised that with two such massive talents residing in one space (and in a relationship) that it hasn’t ripped a hole in the space time continuum. Their coolness seems superhuman. Enough of my pontificating….feat your eyes on this….

This barn door from a New Hampshire sheep farm set on tracks SLAYS me. No really, I may die from the awesomeness.

Hugh made this hand carved bed. What a slacker.

Their adorable dog is all, “You know you wanna be me”. I do, puppy. You are one lucky little guy.

Lindsay’s jewelry is incredible too!

I think that’s all my brain can take before it explodes in fits of inspired thinking.

I see why you are taken with this space. It is so fresh and inventive but calm and subtle. Thanks for sharing! Janell
I love the styling of that shelving! My other favorites are That sliding bathroom door and that amazing bed!
That kitchen!! How did they get a foresty view in Brooklyn?
Beautiful! I love how simple the white/wood scheme is and how clean and modern it feels. And the white Panton chairs with the organic wood table — genius!
I really love your blog. I am a huge fan. I think that you are so insightful and creative, but the integrity of your post is sometimes lost when you don’t run a spell and grammar check. I know that you are really busy and often on the run, but a simple thing like this would a “good blog” a “great blog” done by a true professional.
So this is where they keep the light…
The windows in the kitchen are insane!!
Thank you for posting this! I lived 4 doors down from this brownstone in Park Slope for 5 years! I immediately recognized it by the scupture in front. I remember when they bought it, and I watched all of the contractors go in and out for at least a year. It is SO MUCH FUN to see what they did to the place. Amazing.
oops – “sculpture”.
Your enthusiasm, Erin, makes my day. I came for the pics, but stay for the prose. Love you.
I don’t blame you – my jaw is wide open too. What a stunning home tour this is. Blown away!
I’m sure it’s where you saw it, but this house is featured (with additional pics) in the New York Magazine Spring Home Design issue.
Wow! Their home is INSANE!! Thank you so much for sharing their gorgeous home, Erin. I may be dying right along with you. I love that it feels so warm in spite of being all white.
Gorgeous! What a team!
those shelves in the kitchen and the sliding barn door….too much beauty!
Love everything about this space! One of my favorites.
That’s a nice house, and a beautifully fresh interior, but I see trouble with nothing but a sliding barn door–handsome as it is–to provide sound privacy between the dining table and a toilet only a few feet away. Heaven help the unfortunate guest who needs to use the facilities during dinner.
that’s it! I’m moving to brooklyn!
ps, the dog was just too much, really pushed my jealousy over the edge
Hi Rajaune:
While I agree that a spell check is important, I am not sure it actually affects the integrity of the blog…with that said, I would be more careful to use correct grammar and sentence structure in comments about grammar and sentence structure in the future… “a simple thing like this would a “good blog” a “great blog” done by a true professional” doesn’t make sense.
What a beautiful home. I love the all the white with wood accents. And I agree, that barn door is amazing!
I love all of the decor and ideas in this apartment but I think the best thing about it is the all of the natural light!
Oh how I love the reading nook above the kitchen…divinity!
That dining room makes me sick with envy!
When I first saw this space I fell utterly in love with that bathroom door. Its little touches like this that gives home real character and style.
yes! i love this house. i have always wondered what it would be like to be married to a man with a creative career- our house would be so different-but i’m married to a banker so we compromise a lotttt!
Fantastic domicile! I feel like I have been transported to Norway/Sweden with all the bright white accentuated by those large, black, metal windows and the rusticness of the furniture, accessories, and structure through out the house. They have really brought the outside in. Even The trees right outside the front door enhances that earthly, nordic, simple scheme. What I really like though is putting that iron fence around the lot. It makes it look so much deeper and bigger. Who would have thought
you could make a brown stone look so incredibly comfortable, roomy, and Scandanavian!
I’m blown away…so effing gorgeous. It’s the perfect space if you ask me!!!
Oh man this city has such great real estate porn. Amazing. Right about now I’d be happy with double sinks in the bathroom.
Too beautiful for words, and the puppy puts it totally over the top! Who would think to put Panton chairs with such a rustic table? Brilliant!
That piece over the mantel is AH-MAZING!!!!

Anon, you know you’re right. This is the part where I insert foot in mouth and let Erin do her thing. Point well made.
Ok, I’m totally picturing the husband (“sculptor/furniture designer”) looking like Aidan from SATC! That bed he carved is pure porn.
Umm, is that a *boulder* by the dining room table? I’m puzzled by that.
Although I think most of it is amazzzzzzzing, I find a lot of their seating to look uncomfortable. Those stools in the kitchen? Uninviting. But it all makes sense when I figure I’d be in that bed with Aidan all day.
Hi Erin ,you have a beautiful blog!
