I am so excited to share that Well Appointed House asked us to partner with them on this A-MAZ-ING giveaway! Spring is here and people are sprucing up their outdoor spaces and I can think of no better accent than this black lacquer Lutyens bench (valued at $350)…which you can win if you pop over to the Well Appointed House blog and enter! I absolutely love the shape and styling of this piece (would enter to win one myself if I could- would look darling on my new patio) and can fit in with any decor style. Winner will be announced on Monday so you have plenty of time to enter!

Speaking of porches and patios, I was sitting on a big’ ol southern style wraparound porch last weekend in Sea Island, swaying back and forth on a porch swing and made an executive decisions that I need one in my life. Obviously this will not be happening on my little patio in the city, but it’s going to be a MUST in my next home. It got me thinking about outdoor spaces and how much fun you can have decorating them. Just look:

I love it when people treat porches like indoor rooms- the gallery wall below is FABULOUS, and those built ins? Bananas.

Curtains on a porch? YES PLEASE. you can find them ready made at a variety of places, but also can have some custom made with the incredible selection of outdoor fabrics available these days!

Modern takes on outdoor decor:

This sun room isn’t really outdoor, but I love the decor and mix of textures!

These are so nap-worthy.

This lush greenery is jaw-dropping. I wish my thumb were green enough to make this a reality some day, but I can barely keep an orchid alive.

Ready to get your jealous on? This backyard shed was turned into a big bath house for the owner. This is soooooo going on my birthday list this year.

How about this patio bathtub? I would never ever get out. Ever.

One of the COOLEST “outdoor spaces” I’ve seen- a huge retractable skylight in a top floor apartment! I can;t even comprehend the awesomeness of this.

My new obsession are these outdoor rugs by Fab Habitat made from polypropylene but styled like traditional rugs and SO affordable!

wow, such a great inspiration for an outdoor space! In my dream patio the swinging chair is a must! And woven furniture which will work so right with a rug listed above! Thanks, Erin!
This is muuuuch needed on my currently pitiful patio! It’s gorgeous!
Ooooo the perfect bench for my sisters home renovation. Would be perfect in her slate floored side entry/mud room area. Am entering and totally giving it as a house warming gift if I win. :)
This bench would be perfect on my new deck! We ordering a new outdoor rug and it would match perfectyl!
Does it have to go outside? I can think of a great use for it indoors :)
Beautiful! I have the perfect place for this!

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that Bench! Awesome post! Wonderful inspirational photos!
Great post! I love the bench and have the perfect spot for it. LOL! All the porches are awesome, but the one with the gallery wall is to-die-for! I would never move from that spot.
that bench would be sooooo cute on my pitiful huge deck! Im so overwhelmed by the space that i have nothing on it.
The bumble bee porch (the black & yellow) is to die for!!
Omgosh the Greek Key rug just might be the answer for my front porch. I have done a few post on my porch re-do and will be posting its final look this week. I did a black and white striped curtain and I found a totally cool Greek Key foot stool that I painted and covered in the stripe. It turned out great I think this rug might be the key, Greek key that is .Kathysue
