I am desperate to attend this Mass General Hospital panel at Harvard Business School featuring Anna Wintour, Michael Kors and Natalia Vodianova speaking about eating disorders and the fashion world. As you know, I am recovered from a battle with an eating disorder (which I’ve written about a few times and do volunteer work to help educate and inspire those suffering from them) and this is like a dream opportunity to be a part of! I am on the wait list and shamelessly using my blog as a call to any readers who might have a connection that could get me in a seat at this panel! I promise to blog the crap out of it if I go! :)
Happy Friday,

awesomeness! use the blog for GREAT reason.

sending you prayers…hope you get to go. you totally deserve to.

I hope you go!!!!! (And sorry to hear about your past battle with it). As a believer, I can’t help but admire the way God redeem’s past hurts and struggles.
Did you tell the registration personnel that you are a journalist with a blog and would like to do a write up about the discussion? It usually works (unless they want to monitor the content). Good luck!
No help to offer, but as someone who was surrounded by eating disorders as a Division I NCAA Collegiate Track & Field runner, I completely support your efforts. Anything we can do to promote awareness is positive, in my opinion.
Here’s to hoping you get in!

Good Luck Erin!! ♥
It’s a little crazy, but is there any way you could swing the $5,000 to be a sponsor?
I know that’s completely ridiculously insane, but it feels like you were meant to be there!
Maybe you could auction off the other 3 tickets to recoup some of your costs? I bet some of your readers would love to attend with you!
Wish I could help you.
But sending positive thoughts that you will get a seat!
cheers -s
Already a waiting list.. going to be a good forum. You will be great!! you can be a VOICE … I was a victim in my own mind in the 80″s with eating disorder.. it is a brutal cycle….. you will be a great spokeswoman Erin!! Prayers and support your way!!!! :) hugs too!
YOU CAN DO IT!
Oh..and .. YES, I think you should reach out to your readers and ask us for help …. I think you will be pleasantly surprised!!!
You might try contacting the local media with your personal story and your plea for help from blogland. Might get you noticed. Also try to start a Twitter campaign.
I wish I could help. I hope you get your seat. I think Jackie’s right. Go for a press pass!
Erin, even on your posts for “selfish” reasons, you inspire! I love the photo of Wintour you chose and have hereby decided to create a salon-style arrangement on my wall today. Thank you and good luck!!

Hi Erin…Deb Franko, PhD is the Assoc. Director of the program at MGH and is one of my professors and I can ask her on Tues about tickets. I’m a therapist who used to work with young women with ED and am getting my PhD in her dept. and know her really well so I might be able to help. Feel free to email me on Tues evening and I’ll let you know. I hope something works out, you are clearly very passionate about this and a great advocate!
Seems a little strange to have Anna Wintour, the skinniest woman on the planet who appears to consume nothing but coffee get on stage and talk about eating disorders…(as a person always struggling with disordered eating I don’t know how I feel about that). Did you go? How was it?
