The second I saw the cover of the March issue of Elle Decor I fell in love. The dark navy walls and trim offset with pops of pink and gold had me swooning all over the place. The rest of the home that room came from did not disappoint either (don’t you hate it when there is one stellar room and then the rest of the home is a let down?) The space in question belongs to Oprah producer Ellen Rakieten, who got help from fellow Oprah guru Nate Berkus and designer Anne Coyle in decorating it.
Can I just say, I LOVE THIS SPACE!
From the antique meets modern living room, to the chinoiserie wallpapered dining room, to the clean, crisp kitchen to the perfect home office (inspiration for my own) to the dreamy dressing room and serene all-white bedroom. I could move right in and not change a thing and be a happy girl.

the office, kitchen and closet seem to die for!
I fell in love with this home, too! I love the mix of seating in the living room, the white kitchen, the office and, of course, the closet!
The house is gorgeous!! I love the little seating alcove in the kitchen and the stunning dining room.
So this home is in good ole’ Chicago?? I wonder what the exterior looks like… really beautiful! Love the living room! It’s the perfect example of getting neutrals right.

So good! And in Chicago! My new adopted city! Too bad the new issue of Elle Decor is nowhere to be found in this city…grrr…
The island in the closet is bad ass!
This home is so amazing! I think it would be nearly impossible to be led astray by Nate and Anne, though. They are both so talented. I am pretty much in love with this entire home, but my favorite rooms are definitely the living room, work space, office, and that AMAZING closet!
I wholeheartedly agree. I see these images and I want more! More details, more pictures, more info! It’s beautiful and detailed and well-edited all at once. I am in Chicago and if I knew where this house was, there is a good chance I would stalk it just to catch another glimpse of the inside. And I bet the outside doesn’t disappoint either…
Love how the Hermes blanket is draped over the headboard. Plus she has my fav sheets from WS Home. Thanks for posting…haven’t gotten my issue yet so this is a good sneak preview!
I felt the same way–I jumped with joy the second the magazine arrived! I am dying to know who makes the rug located on the magazine contents page 14…it appears to be the same navy chevron pattern found on the bed in page 95…I’m guessing it’s a Madeline Weinrub pattern…but I didn’t know she made rugs…I am in love…any suggestions on where to find this rug?
Also…have you ever seen any navy/white chevron and/or trellis wallpaper patterns? Just a shot in the dark :)
Love your blog!
Heather
The room on the cover really did have me at hello! It’s stunning.
LOVE the kitchen! My copy just arrived today as well, but I still need to get through it. Thanks for the preview and nudge to make sure that I read this. I am soooo behind in my magazines!
Oooh, I want that wardrobe!!

Thank you all for saying such lovely things about our home! I wish I could invite you all over for a cocktail and show you the rest of it!

Elle Decor March issue, oh my gosh, just ubercool! Sorry, for the nerd introduction to my question, but I just read Margaret Russells editor letter and that word worked for me (thank you MR) so…. I just had to re-use this expression!! My question is reguarding the paint in the libary… the walls look like a semi-gloss, trim high-gloss, are they the same color? I noticed the black doors in other rooms….was just wondering if they were one and the same color with a high gloss finish. I looked through my BM color’s and couldn’t find Peace and Happiness. Could you please provide the number, I love the warm grey. Thank you!
