Perspective.

It’s so easy to lose perspective in this modern world of ours. I am admittedly terrible about keeping my bearings when stressful situations arise. This week there were many for me, but watching this just made me sit back and think about what it means to be grateful and humble. This, my friends, is what courage looks like.

And if you have not done it yet, save the $5 you were going to spend on that half-cafe venti soy latte and text “Yele” to 501501 to donate that small amount to helping those in Haiti. Or perhaps stop over Jessica’s blog and check out the Valentines day print by artist Claudia Pearson that is being sold with 25% of profits going to Yele Haiti.

Holy cow is that humbling and grab a Kleenex! Thank you for sharing! xx

  2. What a horrible situation, there really are no words. And, I agree, everyone should be able to swing $5 at least.

  3. My sentiments exactly.

Only 25% of some print going to charity? That is embarassing. People need to quit using events like these to promote their work and just start opening up their wallets. I urge your readers to give directly to Yele, Doctors Without Borders, Red Cross, or any other organization. Don’t support the Etsy-fication of charity.

The Haitian crisis has hit me so hard in a way that I’ve never felt before. I don’t even remember feeling this way about 9/11. Granted, I was 12….I love how sweet and happy her parents are. God, she’s an angel.

Thanks Element of style. This is exactly what I have been waiting for from you, and you delivered. It had made me love you all the more. I read this blog everyday and have pretty much kept up on the news regarding Haiti, but was sure that so many of us would rather watch/listen or read happy news than to face the reality of what has happened . The comments above reveal just that. Thank you for bringing even more awareness to this. Let’s not forget the Haitian people after this all dies down. Thanks again!
