As I sign off for the holidays (back Monday the 28th) I wanted to leave you with not only my most sincere thanks for your continued support, interest and great ideas/comments/suggestions but also ask for your feedback on a few things. I want 2010 to be a big, BIG year for EofS and one in which I make sure that I continue to help inspire you (and make you laugh a little too). So as an X-mas favor, let me know your thoughts on the following:
*What do you want more of (fashion? shopping guides? design advice? DIY projects? etc.) I know you want to see more of my work, which WILL be happening in 2010, as some of my fun projects come to their final stages!
*Would you like a separate fashion blog or allow this one to develop into more of a “lifestyle blog” incorporating interior design, fashion, entertaining, beauty/fitness, cooking, drinking and general awesomeness?
*Would you like to see Saturday posts done by guest editors that focus on things like kids, cooking, arts, entertainment, music, etc.?
* What kind of shows do you think are missing from the TV landscape right now? What ARE you watching and what do you think you would watch? A show that mirrors a Domino issue? A young, hip Martha Stewart type show? A Rachel Zoe Project type show for interior designers or maybe just more straight-up design/fashion makeover shows?
If I could I would give you all the gift of reviving Domino itself for Xmas. But since I can’t, I’ll just leave you with a cyber-hug and wishes for a happy, healthy holiday!

Merry Christmas Erin! Keep on doin’ what you’re doin’ in the new year – I love E of S as is! I come for the interiors and the fashion/lifestyle/cooking/drinking is a nice little treat. If I’m honest, I don’t think I would read a separate blog just about fashion, so I think you should keep it all together. I wouldn’t want to miss out on the fantastic outfits you put together. You are all around inspiring.
Merry Christmas to you!! Your blog is one of my favorites! No, I don’t want a separate fashion blog. I love Fashion Fridays and all the other lifestyle parts that you do. I think guest bloggers on the weekend would be fun too. And definitely more or your work!!
wishing you and yours a wonderful holiday erin. e of s is one of my fav blogs – you are on the right track and i too would not want to see a separate fashion blog, i like the idea of a total “lifestyle” blog – would love to see some diy projects and if you threw in a kid thing or two – my annie would love it as well!! can’t wait to see what 2010 brings all of us. be well!!
I think your blog is great the way it is and I personally don’t see the need for a seperate fashion blog. Thanks for all the ideas and efforts you put in to your blog!
I hope you and your family have a very Merry Christmas!!
Merry Christmas! I agree with the other ladies — keep the blog all together as one fabulous lifestyle blog! I am dying for DIY projects and budget design. Guest bloggers would be great. We’ll keep working on domino…did I mention I discovered domino a mere three months before they shut down the operation??? I’m still mourning, but delighted to have EofS around. Thanks for all your work!
Christmas blessings to you and yours!
I must cast my vote just as the above ladies did…..keep on keepin’ on just like you are doing! You’ve got a wonderful blog….don’t fix what’s not broken! :)
Erin, Happy holidays! Thank you for your wondeful blog. It is the first one I read every morning. I agree with the others – keep it as is. It is wonderful. I would love to see more DIY and budget design too. Thanks for sharing pieces of your life with us. Merry Christmas!
Keep the lifestyle format, love Fashion Friday, you are so clever and witty, would love to see your banter with designers, both fashion and home-style ones. Love that you love Yoga.Like your travel reviews. Movie reviews, etc would be nice, love your perspective. Thanks always for your generosity.
Your blog is great, a fresh perspective with a nice touch of humor. I love when you discuss design trends (in interiors and fashion) and your personal stories are the one thing we can’t find on other blogs (keep sharing!) Love the idea of guest designers on the weekend. I have done it on my blog and it has been a lot of fun. A tv program along the lines of a Domino-esque/Sheila Bridges format (it was called Apartment Therapy, I think?) would be nice to have back on the dial … done like a reality-show, of course!
Have a great holiday and thanks for sharing your talents/gifts with us!
Happiest of Holidays to you, enjoy your time away! I think you do a wonderful job with your blog, follow your passions and post about those! Janell
Merry Christmas Erin!! I LOVE your blog, but Fashion Fridays are the day I always look forward to! I would love to see a few more fashion posts, but all of your posts are awesome in general! A young hip Martha Stewart type show would be cool! I love decorating, but as a 20 yr-old college student, a lot of decorating ideas either are too expensive, too old, or just generally don’t apply to me! Thanks for all the great posts this year and I’m looking forward to 2010! :D
Merry Christmas! This blog is a little gift every day, so thank you. Here’s my wish list… I’m excited to see more of your work, and would like a peek into your brain to better understand your thought/design processes. In that vein, I’d love to see the steps that you take to get to the final product (space plans, inspiration pieces, mood boards, resourcing, challenges, etc.). Tips/tutorials on things like refinishing furniture would be appreciated too!
On the fashion front, I love what you currently do, and would be thrilled to see you do some body type-specific outfit inspirations, for those of us who, say, are tall with athletic builds but carry five extra pounds around the middle (ahem, just as an example, of course!).
Last but not least, I enjoy hearing about your day-to-day life, so more semi-personal, “here’s what I’m doing/working on today” content would be fun. Looking forward to daily reading and inspiration in 2010!
Erin~Your blog is great and is all around informative, you are always in the know of all the latest trends of the moment and you always have your finger on the pulse, Keep up the work!
Feliz Navidad & Happy 2010!!!!!!
I agree with everyone above. Don’t fix what isn’t broken. I think you are doing a nice mix, and I have you already tagged under “lifestyle blogs”. I’ve definitely grown bored with most of my old favorite interiors blogs, but I think that you inject enough of your own personal stories, fashion, yoga, parties, etc. that keeps your blog interesting and engaging. Please don’t do any more kids/babies stuff than you already do (very little) though. I think that would be a case for an additional blog. I think a Rachel Zoe Project type show for interiors would be great. I’m very interested in seeing the behind the scenes stuff as you get your office running.
Merry Christmas Erin!!! I love the idea of a Saturday post. I think you should keep everything on the same blog instead of having us look in two places. I also really loved your shopping guides this month and would like more of those. Thanks for all the great reading (and looking) material. Have a very Happy New Year!!
merry xmas and a happy new year ^^
answering the questions, I love the DIY projects, but I also love the rest.. maybe it would be a good idea to get a fashion/ entertaining/ beauty/fitness, etc blog too, I mean, as 2 different blogs, if you had the time, but if you didn’t I’d love to see those things here as well ^^
I’m brazilian, so I don’t actually get the good tv shows in here, so I’m gonna skip that ;p
happy holiday =*****
Erin =D thank you! have yourself a merry little christmas… I like your blog as it is, I mean, all in one (fashion, decor, lifestyle, etc) and i’d definitely enjoy a guestpost on sats… xo!

I love your blog, Erin! I love all of the ‘lifestyle blog’ elements in one – I read other fashion, decor, entertaining, etc blogs…one of my favorite things about EoS is that it’s everything I love in one place. Happy Holidays!
I love your chic home finds that are tangible for the every day reader. With the economy as it is, sometimes all it takes is a new inexpensive rug to lift your spirits and make your home fresh again. Keep em coming!
Merry Christmas Erin! Your blog is my absolute favorite! I think you’ve found the perfect mix of interior design and lifestyle. I love your fashion friday posts and I agree with everyone above, keep everything in one place. I hope you have a wonderful holiday and I’ll be looking forward to reading when you return!
Merry Christmas, Erin. I echo many of the posters before me that EofS is one of my favorite blogs to read. I love love love Fashion Fridays and the inspiring fashion boards you put together. I think you should keep everything together as a “lifestyle” blog rather than splitting fashion off. I would REALLY like to see more DIY and style boards but for ROOMS (paint colors, furniture, common interior design conundrums) and homes. I don’t really care for a Saturday guest blogger. Congrats on all your success!
Happy Holidays to you, the hubs and the doggies! E of S is my 2nd read of the day after perezhilton.com and before cnn.com LOL. There are too many fashion blogs, I actually really like the Fashion Fridays as it is a refreshing break from decor…but it speaks the same lingo as your sense of design. I would personally like to see more “look for less”: same look, cheaper price. Thanks for everything you have done thus far! As for shows on TV, I loved MTV cribs when it first premiered, now they’d just feature any crap of an apartment (like Steve-O’s). I want a see a bigger better version of cribs.
I would love it if it stayed close the current blog or developed into a “lifestyle blog”.
As far as TV, definitely NOT a makeover show. All the options sound great, but I’m sick of makeover shows.
Have a Fabulous Holiday and can’t wait to see everything you do next year!
I open your blog every morning before I start to work and it is always a great way to begin the day! I really like that you mix it up between interior design, fashion, and your own life. It is always enjoyable, entertaining, and inspiring. I really enjoy the design advice and would love to see more of that. The idea of a lifestyle blog is exciting, but I wouldn’t want to see less interior design posts. The weekend posts would be something I would really look forward to, and I don’t really watch too much tv so can’t help in that department. I just adore EofS, Thanks for it all!!
Love. Love. Love your blog! I would like to see more DIY projects and design advice but I still like the idea of a lifestyle blog. I agree with Rachel in that she doesn’t want to see less design related posts. Guest bloggers on the weekend would be awesome. I would definitely check in on the weekends to read posts. Keep up the good work Erin!
Hey erin!
your blog was the first blog I ever read and is still one of my favorites! You inspired me to start my own and for that I thank you, blogging is such a great outlet. I really love how your blog is the total package, i love the fashion bits too, but think that piece is perfect for fridays! Im with everyone else on seeing more of your work, more ways of doing design on a budget, and can’t wait to hear how your office site evolves! very exciting and congrats!
merry christmas and happy new year!
As a 50 something woman who enjoys your energy and style I say keep all info on the same blog. Design blogs can be overwhelming without a mix of lifestyle and fashion thrown in. Love that you include items from Target and other department stores more readily available to most readers. Would love to see forward thinking forecasts for decorating and fashion colors and trends so purchases can be more sustainable. As for me I am blogging about my effort to refurbish my current wardrobe and refrain from buying any “new” clothing for 6 months and if it works will continue for one year. Advise on how to use pieces we already have in a new way would be fun to see. Wish me luck. Merry Christmas Erin.
Love that you communicate with such passion and enthusiasm. Really enjoy the personal stories and product suggestions/finds. Would love a Saturday contribution, as Fridays are bittersweet (love the fashion aspect but hate having to wait two days to read more!). Merry Christmas!!!
Merry Christmas to you as well! Other commenters have made some great suggestions that I’d like to see more of too – your design-planning thought process, budget decorating and DIY projects, info about choosing colors. While a separate blog isn’t necessary, I’d love to see more fashion posts beyond just Fashion Friday (probably because I look forward to Fashion Fridays way too much. I love opening up my browser Friday mornings [at work, hehe] with my cup of coffee and seeing what great outfits you have put together!). There are a lot of fashion blogs, but many post outfits that are too high-end or unwearable – instead, you post fashions that are accessible and wearable. I actually refer to your Fashion Fridays for inspiration and outfit planning.
Hope you and your family have a restful, fun holiday!
Erin, I love your blog as many readers obviously do. I truly believe the most successful blogs are those whose writers are passionate and truly love what they write about. Through that, you have a way of bringing (items, products, rooms, etc) to reality and inspiring people to achieve their own style. I am a huge fan of creativity, and girl, you’ve got it! Love that you share your fun projects with us, along with allowing us a peek into your personal life to remind us that you are real, too.
Overall, I like the mix that you’ve created herein and I think you keep it well balanced. You obviously have a growing fan club, so as they say ‘if its not broke, don’t fix it’. Grow it yes; change it, no. Merry Christmas and Happy Wishes for EOS in 2010!
Oh….and maybe consider letting some of your readers contribute on Saturdays. :-) Maybe we can share how your blog inspires us or how we apply a tip in our real lives? Or, share fashion/design/entertainment topics from around the country to give Saturdays a national perspective. Just a thought.
Do you publish all comments?
As is, please. :)
I love your blog, as is. I would be turned off if you tried to be all Gwenie.
Happy Holidays, Erin! I love E of S as is! I think you very accurately reflect style, chic and the glamorous life as lived by our age group! I think you perfectly balance text & photos, and you have the perfect combination of lifestyle and true design (aren’t they all related anyways?). So, to echo the other commenters, keep doing what you are doing. Definitely my favorite blog!
Have a great 2010.
With respect to your questions.
-Your fashion posts are always pretty, but always aimed at the very young and the very thin, which is exactly the same market covered by 99.9% of fashion magazines. I would hate to see the design get the short end of the stick to fashion. You really have a wonderful talent as a designer and I would love to see more of that.
-The Saturday posts sound fun.
-Gave up on TV long ago.
Merry Christmas – I love a little bit of everything! But I really do love your fashion bits and definitely home design (especially seeing some of your own).
I saw this on design sponge – not sure if you saw it – but definitely thought you would love it!

Hi Erin,
Keep the blog as is–I like fashion and design together. Also, usually when a blog has a guest blogger, I skip over it and don’t read it.
As for television shows, I love ones with real designer projects and budgets–like Design, inc and Sarah’s house.
Merry Christmas Erin! I LOVE your blog! I would like to see some more design advice and your work! ( I know you said you will feature that) …. I say, keep the fashion right where it is in your blog … like the “lifestyle” idea…more people I feel will just stay with one blog to go learn the latest design and fashion tips, news etc…I am not sure aobut teh Saturday post question…
as for TV.. I dont’ watch alot..when I do..I try to catch Ina Garten and Giada’s shows…and on Fine Living, Sarah Richardson’s shows… or movies… I just watched “Sarah’s House” yesterday… was so good!!!
Wishing you All the Best in 2010~~ I know you’ll make those “BIG” things happen!!!! You are an inspiration!
Happy Holidays Erin! This is my favorite blog! It is the first thing I read when I turn on the computer. I like the mix of fashion, home design and lifestyle subjects. I too miss Domino….still read my past issues. Even TV is lacking lately for new and fresh on the home design front. I watch Pure Design with Samantha Pynn and Design Inc (reruns) for inspiration. Keep up the great work and congrats on your new office!
Erin,
I love your blog. It’s my favorite. I discovered it in Boston Globe Magazine, and I haven’t stopped reading it since. I actually don’t subscribe to the, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” way of thinking. (Imagine if Martha Stewart never ventured beyond her catering business because she was advised not to change things??) We follow your blog because we admire (and even aspire to achieving) your design aethetic, flair & general sense of style! I would love to have it expand even more into fashion, lifestyle, etc subjects. I don’t think the interior design aspect would get lost in the mix but may even become more enhanced. I really enjoy your postings that are more personal — the projects you’ve done, what’s your “favorite” in various categories (fashion, makeup, etc.) You’ve shown us your larger projects (with more to come, you’ve mentioned), but I know I’d be interested in even seeing smaller ones where rooms are just “tweaked”, because those are the kinds of changes that many of us are making. I’d also love to hear more about your new fashion venture in your blog.
(BTW Have you see the website fashionair.com? It’s great and one that you would appreciate, if you haven’t already discovered it. Take a look under “Style Profile” and see Amy Smilovic’s video. Her design aethetic reminds me of yours. Hapy New Year!
Merry Christmas Erin!!! I love the blog but would definitely love to see it evolve into a lifestyle blog. I especially enjoy your fashion posts!
Merry Christmas! I love what you’re doing already. I read your blog because I like your design and fashion taste. I’m not a huge “guest editor” fan – I read your blog for YOUR voice/take on things. And even though I have a child, enjoy cooking, etc. I already read a ton of those blogs specifically aimed at children, cooking, etc. You have such an awesome blog; don’t feel like you need to be all things to all people. Your audience follows you because of what you’re already doing right. So I say focus on YOUR take on great design and fashion and run with it! Can’t wait to see your new office be transformed!
Hi Erin!
I love your blog…. when I travel I can’t wait to get home to “catch up”. I don’t see any need for a seperate fashion blog — But I do love your fashion Friday tips! Guest contributors I guess would be great but I also dont see any problems with just M – F. Hope this help! Happy Holidays!
Erin-your blog is amazing! Keep us laughing, stylish and sassy. it is my daily treat. as much as i love e of s i doubt i would check another blog. i like the lifestyle idea. even though i have two kids i love dearly i like the break–your blog is sometimes the only me time i get. there are plently of other sources for kids stuff. even though it is tempting try not to fall into the trap of trying to be all things to all people…those that do end up being nothing really special to anyone. my two cents. as for TV, a modern day martha would be so great. go for it!! Happy New Year!!!
wow nice post
i love your blog and always look forward to fashion friday. i would love to see more of your work!
Happy Holidays! I would love to see more of your projects and DIY projects…the recession may be ending but I want to keep my frugal ways by getting inspiration and creating something with my own mind and hands.
I do not like the idea of a separate fashion blog but love the idea of a lifestyle blog, as long as we do not lose the essence of your current blog. Saturday posts would be a fun addition too!
I hope my thoughts are helpful! Cyber hug back at ya!
Simone
Belated Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you Erin. I love your blog just the way it is. To me it is the perfect combination of design, decorating and fashion. I love how you showcase different designers and really affordable options for design elements. I wouldn’t change a thing! I have about fifty blogs listed in Google Reader and yours is the first I check every day.
Thank you for being a great inspiration.
I happened across your blog about a year ago and it it one of my favorites to frequent. I love it the way it is but, I frequent it more the the interior design. I love your style!
