Great minds think alike, that is for certain. Last week after posting my plea to West Elm to bring back their amazing Morroccan windowpane rug, I went in search of a replacement. And apparently you did too! We all found the same rug, a flat weave beauty in a bevy of colors made by Surya and available at a few online retailers like CSN Rugs (which is offering 30% off right now!), Home Decorators Collection and Shades of Light. The colors, the pattern, the weave, it’s all PERFECTION in my opinion and an excellent replacement for the West Elm rug!
Come to find out, this rug is designed by a fabulous Boston designer, Jill Rosenwald (who also e-mailed me to alert me of it’s existence- I was just flattered she reads the blog!) I’ve seen Jill’s pottery before in stores and always loved the colorful and whimsical feel they exude, but I had no idea she was designed goods like rugs! Here’s her new patterns that will be produced by Surya- I smell another hit!

Wow! Jill has some amazing things here! I wonder does she have a shop? A place to go and see the actually rugs? I love throwing my fabrics around the rug, to see the relationship. Great find Erin!
That is a perfect replacement for the West Elm rug! Thanks for sharing.
thanks for the tip Erin! great find! Love Jill's work as well!

I want everything on her Web site! I even loved the cute baby things. Thanks for sharing this find.
Erin, love those rugs. How do you get the 30% off at CSN?
Such a great, great find! Thank you so much for posting about this!
I'm just now starting to blend some modern design into my farmhouse, and I like the contrast -
OMG…I have the coral and white rug in my baby daughter's nursery! I found it a while ago online and had to have it!! It looks wonderful, too. Great to know it's a local designer.
I love the lamps and all of Jill's pieces. Such beautiful use of color! Great find!
I bought a Jill Rosenwald pitcher & fruit bowl at Anthropologie a year or two ago. I love them and they were relatively inexpensive & unique. I also got three vases by Jill through a company named Magenta online. Wish I could see rugs like that in person on the West Coast.
Bless you for this discovery! I'm so excited!
Such great-looking finds :)
Great find! Thanks!
saw these rugs in person at a little shop in knoxville while my husband was there for work. they are wonderful — and the flat weave is ideal, in my opinion.
Jill, do you have a showroom/vendor in NYC? I would love to see these in person.
Erin, what a fabulous find!
I'm a longtime fan of Jill R., and it's great to see she has rugs, too! Thanks for posting.

so glad to see that people are loving the rugs. i believe if you are a designer/decorator you are free to open an account with Surya, my rug manufacturer, and buy the rugs at wholesale prices! our lamps can be seen in NYC at Room in Tribeca, Barneys, and at Calypso Home.
hope this helps everyone.
Love your blog, Erin — especially posts like this one.
I just happened across similar rugs at Garnet Hill: http://www.garnethill.com/jump.jsp?itemID=19430&itemType=PRODUCT&path=1%2C2%2C5%2C7355%2C9896&iProductID=19430
