A Bit of Bridal Vintage…

I just loved this shot of Mad Men star Christina Hendricks’ vintage themed wedding- complete with mismatched bridesmaids wearing lovely little head adornments!  It got me thinking about how much I would love to feel confident enough to rock one of those for a formal event (or when I have another wedding ceremony, since you know, I wish I could have 8 different weddings…)
For a bride, this type of comb could be worn instead of a veil or placed int eh hair after the veil is removed after the ceremony.  This one is from Etsy and is adorned with a lovely little vintage looking bird and feathers (click on pic for link)
My friend Jen has a company called Ban.do which makes TONS of great hair adornments at all different price ranges- here are a couple gorgeous numbers for a bride:
And here are a couple pairings for bridesmaids- wouldn’t this be such a fun, flirty, elegant look?

I love love love Christina Hendricks! So refreshing to see the return of the bombshell.

I was in a wedding when the groom's family was all from the UK. So many women wore headpieces and it was to die for. It was glamourous, but also respectful to the importance of the day. Special day, special look.

I love the pieces you showed.

So I realize this isn't what the post is about but – DAMN! Christina Hendricks has the most bomb-tastic body! How do you get such voluptuous curves with such great arms, legs and jawline? Life's ain't fair.

But I love the looks you put together. I'm thinking of wearing something similar for Christmas.

I love Christina Hendricks and was all over here wedding photos!

You need to get yourself invited to a wedding in the UK or Ireland, no female guest dares to make a MOVE without donning a head piece!

I have such a love/hate relationship with the feather trend.

In many instances Peacock feathers are harvested from the natural molting process, but others are plucked out of the live bird or the bird is even killed for the feathers.

Do your research ladies and insist on feathers that use humane harvesting methods. It does not take away from the beauty of the final product.

What a great way to celebrate your friends! In the event that hell freezes over and I marry, I want my bridal party (which will definitely comprise of girls AND guys) to be celebrated-not relegated to wearing a color-coded uniform.

    amazing.
