Flamant: My New Shopping Crush

One of my clients had torn this page out of Canadian House & Home (again, way to go Canada) while on vacation in Vancouver last week- I took one look at the summary they wrote about this chain of home stores, Flamant, and I was sold! The orange jute shopping bags, the little matchbooks, the gorgeously styled wares and architecture of the shops….yes, please, can I have some more?

So online I went and I am in love! Their stores make me want to just pack a bag and move in:

Flamant paired with a plumbing fixture company to offer it’s own line of faucets… I’m loving these two.

They have their own paint line, which is packaged perfectly. You know I’m a sucker for great packaging! As for that in store paint chart on the wall…helloooo lovah!

Some of Flamant’s amazing items:

This library below is sold complete with lighting and ldder- just add your books!

Same with this island with sink, all ready to plop down in your kitchen- so gorgeous!

Flamant has three of it’s own restaurants as well, to feed hungry shoppers exhausted from spending all their money! Each is styled so differently and is unique in it’s menu offerings.

Some other Flamant styled rooms in hotels and private residences:

They published a book called Here & Elsewhere and I’m having trouble locating a copy as most vendors say it’s out fo print and unavailable. Hopefully I can pick one up at the store when I’m in Paris!

Any readers from Europe been to a Flamant store? Are they as fabulous as they look?

I’m a Flamant devotee from my days as a student in Paris. The Paris location on the Place Furstenberg is not only visually gorgeous, but the locale is divine and so romantic. As an art student, it was one of my favorite places to go sketch and do watercolors. I have a set of bowls from there that I carefully hand-carried home with me once I came back to the US and every time I pull them out of the cupboard, it reminds me of that beautiful little shop.

We have been to the Flamant in Brussels and in Vienna – both are worth a visit. The store in Brussels is the biggest, its located at the Sablon – a real highlight of Brussels.

They are also a wholesaler and have one of the most amazing booths at the Franfurt Fair. It is inspirational just to walk through and view their displays.
