In Search of French Style: Looc

OK, you all know about my new years resolution to dress and “be” more French, right? That effortlessly chic and clean look that makes people think “how does she look so good without trying?” Well, Looc boutique in Boston’s South End is an homage to my quest- carrying only the chicest of chic designers and in a space that will make you drool. The exposed brick, soaring ceilings, whitewashed wood floors, crystal chandeliers and antiques mixed with modern lucite pieces…I want to move in there whenever I go in. It has a very nautical French seaside feeling- glamorous yet laid back, just like a gorgeous French woman. Oh, and did I mention the navy and white striped hatboxes you can carry your purchases out in reminiscent of striped boatneck tees? No detail is overlooked, making this shopping experience one to remember.

Get the Looc look with a nautically inspired cotton stripe rug for Madeline Weinrib, a salon chair from Ballard Designs, a Murano crystal chandelier from GreatChandeliers.com, white grommet top cotton duck drapes from IKEA, CB2’s Peekaboo side table, Pottery Barn’s amazing Brittanic Trunk as a coffee table and a simple, streamlined sofa like Mitchell Gold’s Marlena.

Tres chic! Oh how I wish I lived near this store. Even the storefront looks French.

Would you mind telling me what color you used to paint the turquoise interior of that fabulous sideboard in your entryway? I’ve been scouting estate sales around here in hopes of scoring such a find to make over!

    Thank you =)

I just hate that there’s no retailer for Madeline Weinrib’s rugs in TX — do you know of any web source?

It is the ne plus ultra of French fashion. Check out the online store for now and when you go to Paris you have to, HAVE TO check it out in person.
