I was poking around Eddie Ross‘ site yesterday, as I do almost every day, and came across his Valentine’s day arrangement perched in black urns and black Jasperware. I literally said out loud “Oh my God, best wedding color scheme ever!”- hot pinks, paler pinks, deep black and bright white- so modern and so elegant! I have weddings on the brain since my best friend from college got engaged last week (CONGRATS AGAIN ERIKA!). So of course, I had to go and plan a wedding based on Eddie’s arrangement below. Start with some black urns from Jamali Garden Supply. They have various styles, these two are my favorites. If urns aren’t your thing, you could use their black glass vases…

Add a few of my favorite Glassybaby votives in various shades of pink around the centerpeice for an amazing glow.

Set the tables in graphic black and white stripes or keep it simpler with black table clothes with a solid pink runner and pink napkins on white china!

For a cake go simple and classic or whimsical, like this silhouette cake by Cheryl Kleinman

For the bride- pair a simple black sash with a classic dress for a statement (a friend of mine did this at her wedding and it was stunning!)- or really rock it out like Gwen Stefani with a pink ombre dyed train!

For the maids- pink dresses with long black and diamond necklaces and statement heels with a ruffle flourish!

For the boys- simple black suits, white shirts and pink ties (left is a pink and black stripe from Brooks Brothers, right is a pink and deep pink giraffe print form Thomas Pink). I personally would like to add pink socks, just for the dash on unexpected flair, but you might have to get your loved one drunk first. Black and white Chuck Taylor’s would be pretty cute too, if your guy is down like that.

Some yummy invites from Wedding Paper Divas- if you go black and white, line the envelopes with hot pink paper!

And just when you thought I had gone so far off the wedding planning deep end I would never return- I took a peek over at my inbox and saw the cover of the last Domino (sob) and behold- it’s pink and black too, so I went on a search for pink and black rooms and came up with some amazing ones that make me want a pink room SO BADLY. My photo upload limit has been reached so thos epics are in the next post!

OMG I want to come to this beautiful wedding!!!! Thank you so much for your sweet metion!!

Eddie
I’m loving this color combo for a wedding- I’ll have to put this into my wedding inspiration files for when I start planning my own wedding.
If you would like to see how NOT to do a pinks/black/white wedding, watch Platinum Weddings on the We channel. I am not sure exactly which episode it is, but it is on comcast on demand right now…. SOO horribly overdone. This is definitely the right way to do this color combo.
Are we painting again?
Love your Husband
Lovely!! Your husbands comment made me laugh, “are we painting again?” haha =)
Oh Eddie, you would be the guest of honor!!! :)
No honey, no pink room in this house. SOMEDAY THOUGH!
SO cute! I love these colors for a wedding. And the chuck taylors would be the perfect touch.
What a pretty wedding color scheme. I love how it’s feminine, but with an edge
Looks like the American Girl Place Cafe: http://www.dprinc.com/images/projects/large/Cafe_Round%20Room%202_resized%20for%20website.jpg
There’s a great, very delicate pink and black wedding featured today on Style Me Pretty’s blog…always loved this color palette!
I got a shout out!! Yiiipppppeee! Ok you…advice, thinking (at the moment…um obviously could change) navy (for the ladies) and flowers bright bright bright oranges, pinks and reds. Hoping for LOTS of candles, those votives, in the colors on your blog were pretty perfect, maybe lots of candles would allow us to cut down on flower expenses a bit??? What do you think?
