Registry Worthy China

Some yummy china place settings for those brides to be out there!

These patterns by J. Chew (yep, CHEW not CREW) are fabulously fanciful yet simple. I’d love to mix the two patterns to create a really lovely look.

When registering for my china I coveted the Etoile pattern by Bernadaud below left. I hemmed and hawed and finally thought it would be something I might tire of. I was WRONG! I still love it! Nerds! Also love the Constance pattern too- I do believe that was Charlotte York’s china!

For something a bit more fanciful, try the Mega pattern by Royal Copenhagen or Pompano Point by Kate Spade

Simple platinum rimmed china is something that will never go out of style: I chose Vera Wang for Wedgewood’s Grosgrain, but Barbara Barry’s Emrace is pretty great too!

I will not be posting tomorrow as I am gone all day in a meeting- but will post on Saturday to make up for a missed Fashion Friday!
Happy Weekend!

The Vera Wang Grosgrain is a beautiful and classic choice — I actually went with Vera Wang’s Imperial Scroll, which is also white/platinum and similarly versatile.

I really love Kate Spade’s Royal Copenhagen though…too bad I can’t register all over again!

I have had the Etoile for nearly 6 years and it is great. Truth be told, it does get tiring when used too much. I alternate it with an equally great all white Missen ‘waves’ winning combo. great post!

I also chose the Vera Wang Grosgrain pattern for my wedding registry – Mostly because I knew I could always spice it up with colorful or elaborate salad plates, chargers or other accessories. It’s classic but with a modern twist, and works well for those of us that like to mix china patterns!

What great choices. Wish I was registering all over again. I picked Kate Spade Library Lane. It is mostly white a silver border. I figure it will go with everything and I always buy fun salad plates to make things look different.

I do love those orange plates you featured along with the bamboo. My favorites.

They are pretty. Always a good idea to check with replacements.com on how many pieces are available for breakage replacements as these newbies can be an expensive, costly, or discontinued impossible replacement leading a happy bride to china pattern misery in one chip… oh, how I have BEEN there…

    J. Chew – ha, love it!

I have the Royal Copenhagen pattern in the original style, but it would be fun to have some of the Mega, too.

I love all these patterns!! My in-laws let us choose a set from one of their (five!) patterns, and we went with Royal Crown Derby’s Carlton Red – simple, beautiful, and can always be jazzed up. In fact, might have to check into some of these! ;)
    Thanks for the little happies!!

“Constance” was Charlotte York’s and Blair Waldorf’s pattern too!

We are still happy with our Kate Spade Pompano Point after three years (that’s the green/gold bamboo one).

I love your blog, and it makes me smile that you picked Grosgrain–that is my wedding china, too! I love it because it’s classic AND modern.

Oh my god we must be kindred spirits. I just did a post on that Royal Copenhagen pattern as well! Isn’t it modern?

This post made me want china. Not just any china, but an amazing collection that’s bold and colorful. I have the beginning of a collection from years ago, but never finished. I always say “I can get more later” but never do.

This wonderful post made me rethink the importance of having pretty china.
