So here are a few quick, poorly lit snaps of my house as it is pre-photo shoot for the Boston Globe Magazine. I have two and a half hours to mop the floors. get myself ready and make sure everything is looking sharp. I am EXHAUSTED. I hope you like it.
Oh, and a new little piece of art I whipped up- a silhouette of Baxter on a grassy tear sheet from the DWR catalog! :)
** So the shoot is delayed another hour (snow) so I took some more daytime images while I wait (and try to not sit on any thing and mess it up)

Youre home looks grate! Thanks for the inspiration!

I love it, but I thought you were going for navy or the like for the bedroom>?
I wanted a change- so I went for grey and light blue in the bedroom. More serene.
Truly inspirational, I see a lot of ideas to use! Thank you.
I love it! Your home is full of character and abounds with quirky, fun details, yet manages to exude a tranquil vibe.
I think your place looks fantastic! Love following your blog!
I actually just purchased 96 inch sail cloth window panels similar to those in your living room and Im trying to find the right curtain rod to go with them – any suggestions? Where did you get yours?
Good luck with the photo shoot!
Fabulous job! It looks amazing.
I absolutely love your home! Everything looks great.
Your taste is impeccable!! Now I just need to convince you to travel to San Diego to do my house in an exact replica of your house…it’s 75 and sunny here, does that help?? :)
OH MY GOSH!!! I LOVE what you have done! You must share what is borrowed and what is new! The office green looks fabulous and you know I am obsessed with the tulip table in the living room! Nice work Erin!!
Erin,
Everything looks beautiful. What a great job! I love the new office color and your bedroom looks wonderful in that icy blue/gray color.
Love all of it.
You are going to rock!!!!!
Congrats! Your house looks great! Can’t wait to see how the professional shoot turns out!
The house looks great!! I am excited to see your shoot! One question, to anyone who can answer…I remember a post about the books and or book case/holder in the livingroom…where is it from????????
The house looks beautiful!
I’m completely envious of your butler’s pantry.
We like it – we really, really like it. Aw heck, we love it!
Really beautiful, every bit of it. Especially love the details like the inside back of the kitchen cabinets. Wallpaper? And the pops of color in the dining room. And too much more to mention!
I absolutely love your home, Erin. It looks amazing!
I’ve been a lurker on your blog and I just adore your home!! You have such impeccable style with a refreshing twist.
(I also made a profile cutout of our pooch for our home office!)
Your house is so pretty. I love the new floor lamp, the blue pillows, the bathroom stripes, I could go on and on! The new art is so cute!!!! Good luck, can’t wait to see the article!
Thank you guys- you’re making me feel so much better about the shoot- have been SO nervous. But it is about budget design and small space- so I guess it’s a good fit! :)
Good Luck, Erin! How exciting, I can’t wait to see it in print.
Love the artwork of Baxter. How did you ever get a good profile shot to use?
So pretty!
Your home looks incredible, Erin. I absolutely love everything about it :) Good luck with the shoot.
Kylie
LOVE the new bedroom!! Good luck!!
And I love Baxter watching out the window for the Boston Globe!!!
Wow, Erin, you HAVE been busy! I am so loving the tulip table in your living room; it adds so much. The green is perfect for your office, and I never get over looking at your gorgeous sideboard with the turquoise accents. You rock, honey!
OK IN LOVE with all your hard work and it looks so great! You must share the sources of your fabulous bed linens. They look gorgeous and inviting. And I love the placement of your black/teal piece so much better underneath the photo wall. Great job Erin!
Your house looks gorgeous! Really like the detail of the zig zag shower curtain. Look forward to seeing it published.
Looks great! I have a question where did you find that pretty rug in your kitchen/table area?
You’ve done such a wonderful job! The green in your office looks great too. Hope everything went well…I love that living room picture with Baxter, :o) Oh! And a late congrats on your new family member.
I love the apple green in the office! I am in the middle of decorating my new studio apartment and apple green was in the running for a while, but I settled on leaving the rest of the walls white and just doing a focal wall of tone-on-tone navy blues in a chevron pattern. A lot of work, but at least it’s only one wall. And since it’s a rental, all the less re-painting I have to do when I move out.
Your house looks amazing! As always. =) I love the bedroom and your office with the green. Good luck with the shoot!!
Wow, fabulous — all of it! Your style is fantastic. Thank you so much for sharing! I don’t live in Boston so I hope you’ll alert us when the issue comes out.
Best,
Ali
I want your house. Love it! So many ideas.
beautiful! i love the way the office turned out.
It looks wonderful! I have a question I’m hoping you can answer – I have a long, narrow niche right about my kitchen cabinets. What should I put up there? I actually hate it, but know I need something to fill in the gap. Any ideas?
Your home is absolutely gorgeous! So inspiring.
Elegant, divine – MAGNIFICO!! Good Luck, and Congratulations on having your home published!!
P.S. – When can I come visit ;)
Wow – the space really looks different in the day! I love how cozy & inviting everything is :)
Wow, I cannot wait to see the article in the Globe!! I love the changes you made to your office and bedroom. Everything looks so inviting in an elegant way. Let us know how it went!
I love the Ashland Floor Lamp you went with, looks perfect in that space; the house looks great!
Do you mind if I ask… whatis in the three vases on your dining room table? Cute!
Remember when you used to have 2 comments per post?? You’ve come along way!
Just remember us little people who found you at the beginning….heehee.
I am recruiting family members to help rearrange my furniture, and I’m using your living room set-up as a model.
Oh you guys, it went amazing! The photographer Eric Roth was incredibly complementary and sweet- and he’s shot covers for Elle Decor! It was so fun- Baxter was a little supermodel and worked it so hardcore!:)
To answer questions- the wallpaper in the cabinets in the pantry is by Jonathan Adler- silver bamboo trellis.
The bookshelves in the living room are the Sapien shelves from Design Within Reach.
The flowers int he tall vases are AMAZING philanopsis (sp?) orchids from Winston’s Flowers.
Oh, and Sarah- that’s not a tulip table- it’s the $25 knock off from Target!!!! :)
Your home looks amazing and it definitely magazine worthy. You have nailed a look that is totally personal.I love the way you have mixed things up and I can tell it is YOU who designed it and not a knock-off or staged room. Love It Great Job, Kudos to you,Kathysue
Looks so great!!! One question, where do you watch TV? Is there a place where you have cleverly hidden it? I am on a mission to make my home not centered on a TV and I think you probably have done that well, too.
cheers!
Your home is stunning! I am now an avid blog stalker! I have a ? about your lighting, I am looking to purchase a black chandlier from greatchandliers.com and noticed you got your bedroom one from there. Was it really difficult to put together and are you happy with the quality? Also where did you get your dining room light and entry light? Thank you so much for inspiring us, I look forward to your updates!
I forgot to ask, and I’ve been meaning to, but I was wondering where you got your coffee table from. I’ve been needing one and I like that particular style. TIA!
Talk about a feast for the eyes! Wow!!! Love your chic style. Didn’t you just move in like less than six months ago? How did you do this in such a short time? I’m so impressed.
love love LOVE the white frame wall with the black and teal cabinet below it!
