Just saw this post after reading your Atlanta trip post…I grew up going to the Cloister and about 15 years ago my parents bought a house on SSI (something about the 100 year lease on SI didn't appeal). I'm always giddy when I see somebody else gushing about that area! I love it, too and try to get down there as often as possible! The new hotel is gorgeous, but I miss the original! The Spanish Lounge was perfection.

Was looking through these old posts. We grew up going to Sea Island too. We had a condo on 5th St. I loved the old cloister hotel. But the new one is pretty sweet! My parents live in St. Simons, so fun to drive thru Sea Island to see houses now!

Cat, Guess what is in my shower right now? Sea Island Cotton shower gel- it was in my Xmas stocking from my mom! She said she couldn’t resist when she saw the name. Votivo used to make a candle called Sea Island Grapefruit but have since changed the name to “Island Grapefruit”- the Sea Island Company must have had an issue with it!

I cannot believe I forgot to mention this im my earlier comment but, I just bought the Sea Island Cotton scented hand soap from Bath and Body Works. I never shop there but when I saw it in the window I had to have it. It’s lovely, clean, and crisp – if only for a moment – literally. Thought you might want to check it out…

We were lucky enough to spend time at Sea Island as children. Now, we have a home not far from there. While the growth has been wonderful for the area, I very much miss what it once was. But I am glad you had a wonderful trip – it has endless wonders to offer a vistor! For a quiter, more restful trip, we still take to the Jekyll Island Club which is also lovely if a good deal more understand these days! :)

What a beautiful destination and how lovely to visit with your husband and learn of his childhood memories. The photographs of his family home and particularly the views towards the marsh, from the verandah, look spectacular.
