If I could, I would change my throw pillow covers every 6 weeks. I always fall in love with new ones, and the way they can dramatically change the mood of a living room is amazing. One way to get unique throw pillows is to turn vintage scarves into pillow covers. I like to use a solid colored velvet, microsuede or heavy linen to create the back. You could even sew them yourself if you were feeling super crafty. I found these on a great vintage site Posh Vintage (while you are there, take a look at their fantastic collection of vintage dresses!)
I am addicted to pillows as well and just yesterday listed a collection of 3 in my etsy shop – one made from a vintage scarf. I have stacks of scarves, hankies and fabric sitting on my desk just waiting to be made into new collections of pillows!
